It's certainly not looking good for McLaren, especially after all their finger pointing to Honda and it turns out to be disingenuous.

Let's wait and see if Honda works this year. Could be that both Mclaren and Honda were hot garbage.

I think that is the case. Honda was so bad that McLaren seems to have gotten lax and were so uncompetitive that they slipped and leaned on the crutch of blaming Honda. Now that they're gone and Renault is in, McLaren doesn't have much of an excuse to not be closer to the Red Bulls. While it's testing/practice, we've already seen a numerous amateur-hour mistakes from the team:

http://www.skysports.com/iframe/widg...O8gYd1wBVkmUvY

Left and right wheels mixed up. Then attempting to put the wheel on backwards. Basic procedural stuff, not mechanical failures. Not good.

And somehow after that embarassment, they managed to drop the goddamn car in a completely separate incident later in the day:

3 years of slipping down the grid with Honda seems to have taken its toll on the team itself between motivation and actual turnover of staff who were easily poached during those years.

No more blaming the GP2 engine, boys. Get it together.

Oh my god. Zac Brown redeems McLaren and gets a flip flop company to sponsor their Halo. Toro Roso, can you please double down and get Victoria's Secret as your official thong sponsor?

He's definitely a marketing guy, that's a great move. Fans were already making flip flop memes, they embraced it and profited off of the gag. Clever and well played.

Yessssssss! Business trip to Shanghai during the GP! I've missed it by a week 4 times over the last 7 years, but not this year!

Booooyeah! Now do I want to sit on the main straight, or the back straight?

Awesome! That's the longest straight on the calendar and would probably be pretty boring, to be honest (although looking at the map, those are really at the hairpin). The main straight gives you the start and I guess a view of the pits but I would prefer to sit at a corner where there's some action. Getting a covered grandstand is never a bad idea in case of weather. Hours in the rain could be miserable and you're spending a good amount on those tickets.

sperry's fantasy league is now open for registration:

https://ff1.seccs.org/

It's a great, small league that makes the races a bit more entertaining and lets you root for different drivers. Only $21.51 to enter. Limited driver picks bring an element of strategy over the long 21 race season. Many of us have been doing it for years so come join in on the fun!

Right side of H looks like a good spot. You get the end of straight and hairpin passes and you can see pit entry and finish line. Maybe 9/10 as well

I was thinking the same thing as well. I remembered that we have one guy here that worked with Renault F1 back in the day and he's reaching out to his contacts for pit passes/hospitality passes and I'm pretty sure my neighbor works for Haas... This could be epicccccccccccc!

Ehh, I'm tentative to agree. You'll be too far away from the hairpin to really experience that action and will probably have a poor view of those secondary locations.

Here's the view of grandstand H from grandstand K.

The distances are big in person so by sacrificing hairpin action, the main attraction of that grandstand, you'll probably gain next to nothing in terms of watching them go down the pit straight or 9/10. You can see at the end of the 1st video above that even the pitlane entrance is a good distance from the hairpin, so 9/10 are out of the question and I think trying to see some of that by sitting on the right side of H will put you in "no man's land".

My .02 based on a quick GIS.

hmmm

up high in H then

9/10 probably out of the question, can't even see it. but You can see pit entry from that first vid.

But if you do just K that's all you are getting.
