The 2007 STI Limited braces are a little better than the stamped ones but frankly, spending more than $60 or so is a total waste of money here.

Ill disagree. Considering this is the only readily available triangular fender brace Im going to buy a set since my fenders are off.

I remember Turn in Concepts offered their front cowl braces. they were talking these things up big and they were only straight like oem but much stiffer. Tic doesnt make them anymore.

you cant get the GTspec triangular brace anymore either. this is Copied from GTSPEC

"GTSPEC Fender Reinforcement Brace for Subaru
Description:

Known as the "Gacchiri Support" in Japan or CAWL Support by SPT. This chassis reinforcement will greatly improves the handling dynamics of your car. Mounts onto the door hinge and inner fender, creating a triangular support that greatly increases rigidity over OEM. Confidence in steering is gauranteed while reducing flexing of the unibody.
Car Manufacturer: SUBARU
Application: GDA04 (04 WRX),GC8,GDBC (04 STI),GDA02 (02 to 03 Impreza Sedan),GGA (02+ Wagon)"

They look pretty beefy. a decent welder might be able to make some at home.

The GTSpec is exactly what these were copied from.

Unless the car is going to autocross/open track/time attack, the triagluated is way over kill.

the Paranoid's work incredibly well. You can definitely hear and feel the difference in the drive and when closing the doors.

And yes this would be an excellent "learning to weld" project. Here in Dallas there are lots of metal-fab companies. Stop in and ask for 3/16" plate scraps and 1" x 1" or 1x 2 scraps they have. Most Fab companies have bins upon bins of scrap pieces. then buy a Harbor Freight 110V flux-welder for $100 and make your own...

FWIW, even stage rally cars, which take more abuse in this area than anything you'll be throwing at it, don't even upgrade this stamped steel support - they just weld it to the chassis:

Purchasing any aftermarket part for this area is a total waste of time and money, and just adds dead weight to the front end.
