I have everything we need for those bad boys, I'll only charge you half of what you just paid.

Star specs are a decent tire and there is a huge following but after running contis for years I trust them more.

Yeah I'm right there with ya. I need to replace both sides also. The passenger side leaks a little more though.

I know I've had the leak for at least a year, and it doesn't seem critical yet... I'm actually going to pay someone to do it.. not something I'm willing to do myself.

Working on cars is great, except for when it's not fun.

I watched someone do it. It's not that bad. A little time consuming but you can save yourself quite a bit of money doing it yourself. I'm sure you know that.

I have never had a problem with conti's. Last month I tried an event with the DW and they were hard to find the limit even with the cold ground temp.

Just my opinion. The DW are cheaper too.
Unfortunately, your opinion doesn't match up with well-proven auto-x results. There's a reason that the top 10 STU finishers at Nationals (and 25 of 34 runners in the class) were on Star Specs, and not a single competitor in any of the ST classes was running Continentals. At the National level, guys will run the tires that work.

Don't get me wrong, the DW is a great tire - I have them on my CTS-V and they do everything well. But for raw grip they can't match the Star Spec (or the various other extreme performance tires that are basically designed specifically for Street Touring competition).

What do you guys use as a track? Is it Tarmac paved?

Tis' true but that is why they make more than one type of tire. You have to bust out the facts huh?

There is also contigency points for dunlop and not conti correct?? That would sway me to run them if I was competing nationally. I also don't run in any st class either.

I tried the star specs and personally didn't like them. That's all I was getting at.

Yeah, I ended up finding some help. Will be very glad to get it taken care of. Reaching under the engine and pulling back a hand covered in oil is akin to bumping your head and finding blood.. at least in my book

^ superficial.. but hurts like hell and still makes a mess.

I'd say that's a good comparison right there. lol

Drove mine .. a lot.. and will continue to do so over the next week or so. left VB for Albany NY yesterday, left Albany this morning for Buzzards Bay Mass and either tomorrow or early wed I'll be leaving here for Castine Maine. Once my work is done in Castine I'll be rolling back to Albany for the weekend.. then from there to the Bronx on monday morning/tuesday rollin back to Vb.

damn.. when I write it out it really does look like a lot of driving lol

^thats whats up!!!

I took a drive on this beautiful day to listen to my amazing new exhaust and annoy my quaint little town but to my surprise, my stoopid squealing brakes ended up annoying me.
I found out that my left rear brake is sticking and has been for awhile now. ordered new pads n rotors

Oil change on the wag, and washed both pinky and the wag. Checked and topped of all fluids. Now time to relax.
