Default Swap Recomendation PLEASE

Hey guys I have a 99 Impreza L sedan manual that 2years ago swapped a 2.5 RS engine in it. Well that engine just seized this past weekend, due to low oil level. So know im contemplating doing the same RS engine again, or possibly a WRX engine. Please give me some options that are reasonable in price, looking to spend 1k-2500........Thanks alot guys.

you could get an wrx engine for 2500 but you will need another 1500 with of add ons to make it work and then there is the cost of labot

i have a 95 impreza L and im almost done with my JDM 94 WRX turbo swap...ej20g motor
alot of people do this swap... kinda a common one... look in to it... i suggest to get the Front clip.. and not just a engine kit... i got front clip.

going this route is NOT a good option for him being that his car is registered and inspected in the state of New Jersey. It is an OBDII car therefore it needs an OBDII engine.

Your best bet is to get an 02+ USDM WRX engine or pick up another RS engine.

WRX 2 piston calipers..about 100.. i got mine for 75. the only other thing i spent money on are like some screws and stuff....i did alot of stuff that was not needed to make the car run...

A month???? Mine was not capable of moving under it's own power for 25 hours when I did mine over four years ago. I also went the budget swap route and did not get a complete setup. However I had already done a few swaps for other people at that point in time and knew what I needed and was able to source it all for dirt cheap. I'm all about doing things on the cheap but if you have never done one before then your best bet is to get a complete motor set and make sure you have everything you need before you start taking the car appart if it is your daily driver or don't have a second car.

Aznboi04 I'll take a look at your project when I get home this evening.
