Impatiently waiting for Flex Fuel as well. Looking forward to hearing about some good news on the topic.

Also curious when this project is being started. Do we have an ETA on when cobb will start tackling it. ALL THE WANTS.

I really hope this doesn't turn into the speed-density announcement fiasco from a few years ago.

Cobb: WE HAVE SPEED DENSITY!
Customers: OMG WE WANT WHERE DO WE GET IT!
Cobb:
...3 years later...

Default hard to resist

I try hard not to poke this thread every day for updates, sometimes I fail.

I can't say how cool it would be to have this for my STI. I have considered the multiple map approach, but I would feel pretty unsure about doing that, if I were to do something like alternate E85 fill up's with 92 octane. The closest station to me is about 30 miles away, so I couldn't always get out there, but a day spent in spirited driving or an HPDE I could definitely swing out there and fill up.

The other bummer is that gas station owner knows he has the only E85 around and has the price about 20% higher than other stations in the state.

Mazdan sent me to this thread!

I designed a Ethanol Content Analyzer (ECA) for the GT-R platform.

Cobb is familiar with it . It is sold by GotBoost Performance.

It's a 100% plug`n`play harness that provides both ECA functionality (plugs into the sensor), and OEM connector into the vehicle engine harness (using secondary air injection plugs on the GT-R). It also has failsafes built-in and a visual LED for cabin mounting that indicates ethanol readings, fuel temp warnings and error codes...

For those wanting more info, here's the product thread on the GT-R site:
http://www.gtrlife.com/forums/topic/...etup-unveiled/

I want to make this available for the Subies as well, so that would mean a slight modification to use a Subaru TGV plug instead of the Nissan Secondary MAF plug.

The price point of it is attractive, (do compare) so IF there's some interest, I could knock out a couple units for people to test and ultimately make it widely available to this community here.

We're working on Flex Fuel and more for Subaru and it will be easier to use and available through more Protuners than anything available right now. No ETA and probably not by the end of this year, but keep asking and we'll keep answering with as much info as we have.

As the year is nearing end, any update?

Flex fuel is the only reason I would go standalone right now so seeing that COBB has this in their sights is great news. I track my car on E and it is so annoying to have to monitor my fuel so much, and always have that worry in the back of my mind if its going to cause an issue.

We are still hard at work on a few large updates for the DIT platforms to bring their feature set up to par with our other Subaru offerings. Once that base is set, we can expand to development on additional features. We are getting closer, but it definitely won't be this year. Sorry folks.

We do realize flex fuel is a big priority and will be giving it the necessary attention and resources in the near future.

....or this. I miss the APv3 screen, but the perks you get from Ecutek are worth it, IMO.

Not everyone lives in Nebraska where e is everywhere. Some of us would actually like to have the benefits and versatility of both. (How is that for an answer?)

It would be super cool to have this functionality though without switching ECU products. I would rather wait for Cobb though than lose my tuner. Call me a loyalist at this point...

But you CAN have the benefits and versatility of both if you get protuned.
Or am I missing something here? If you get protuned with an AP that makes you not become a Cobb fan?

Right now with Cobb , even protuned , you run either e85 or 91/93. Not BOTH. That's where Flex fuel come in, it allows you to run a mixture of the 2 fuels at any content . The tune constantly adjusts to meet what's in your tank, one tune! Not switching tunes everytime you get different gas. Your not always worried about where the next e85 station is. I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff.

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

You'll be able to get that type of flexibility without getting new injectors, fuel pump, etc. all with one ots map from cobb?
