Default Repair Is Good

Easy as pie. Take your time and don’t overheat the components or board. Tin your iron and dab solder around the ends of both resistors. Test by plugging in the bare board before reassembling the mirror Works like a charm!

Default Mirror mount?

What proper mount do I need? I tried to replace the OEM one with the dimming mirror (the one I fixed thanks to you) and it seems like it rattles. I dont think it’s the proper mount. Anyone have a part number or link? Please let me know! Thanks.

there's a thicker spring for the auto-dim mirror. The piece of metal on the mount itself that stays on your windshield. You should just need the shiny metal spring shown in this part:

You can lift it out of the new mount and put it into your existing mount.

The fix worked for perfect mine, but just be careful when separating the bezel. I was a tad too gung-ho, and ended up scraping off the surface mount light detector for the auto dimming system.
