Question How do they print the white "m" on m & m's candies?

I've been searching for an anwer to this question for awhile, and nobody seems to know! How could they possibly line up all those tiny candies and print a little "m" right in the center?

The best answer I've received so far: "That's what immigrants are for." -haha

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Default Duh....

Come on! That's no answer! Obviously they go through some sort of machine....how does the machine line them up? How does it make sure it's printing in the center every time? How does it print on a surface that's not flat?

Its really done by magic elves with tiny little paintbrushes...I hear they're related to the Keeblers.

They use little tiny stencils and little tiny spray cans. Occasionally a dyslexic worker will paint the letters in the reverse order, but it's hardly noticeable.

Maybe it's like an iron-on . . . a heat source helps to mold the "m" to a non-flat surface.
But that was a serious reply and this thread has stitched itself comical, so I will stop.

I hate to spoil the fun but i can tell ya how

They gots a tray made outa rubber sheet with dimples that the m&ms fit in and the pour the m&ms onto that tray and run em through a machine that stamps the m&m onto them many at a time. That special tray is what keeps em from breaking.

I could be wrong but you guys are gonna have to prove it

As an employee of Nestlé that link on straight dope seems to be logical.

You'd be amazed at how fast some of the machines work. For example, those mini crunch bars that you devour are wrapped on machines capable of wrapping them 600 bars/min.
