Post Wheel balancing/inside mount question....

Talked to my mechanic today after he got my tires (Dunlop 9000s), and was telling him how I wanted my wheels balanced with an inside mount, rather than having the weight on the outside of the rim, which is a) ugly, and b) ugly.

He said that an inside mount wasn't the best way to do it, and might result in some high-speed vibration from an imperfect balance. Is this true, or should I be looking for another place to mount up my tires?

They're going on P1 rims, by the way (and no, they aren't going on the car until March).

Kevin

I've had very good luck with tape weight. No way would I let them put crimp-on weights on nice wheels.

Nice tire choice, btw. The SP9000s are a great performance tire and are quite livable for daily driving as well.

I've had at least 4 sets of tires with inside mounts or tape mounts and have had no problem with shaking at high speeds(up to 120mph).

I'm sure double weighting(using weights on both sides) might have an effect at ultra high speeds(close to 200mph), but I don't think our cars can go that high. hehe.
