My wife has an 09 OBS. I put falken pt722s on it in June and have been quite pleased with them. Pretty sure they're under $100/tire too.
^^ Or, buy his ^^ |

He wants AS not winters, but if you wanted winters I'd suggest:
1) Blizzaks 2) Extreme Contacts 3) Icebears *This is my reccomendation after trying all of these.* |

Bridgestone Ecopia for a good all season and quite highway ride. Cheaper route would be Firestone Affinity Touring/FR-710

Toyo versado lx 2's, just got them back in January, feel and handle nice. I do a lot of driving myself, did 52k last year alone. Nexen 672's are supposed to be decent tire too.

nokian wr's are an all season also snow rated tire. They have a mileage warranty.
I had a set as winter tires for like 3 years in Rochester NY and they did pretty well on my old Saab 9000. I hate to recommend all season tires to anyone, cuz I prefer 2 sets of tires. |

You'll find quite a load of positive feedback on the Conti DWS
- one of the key areas of improvement was road noise (it replaced the old extreme contact - which got very loud as it wore) I've put these on a few friends cars and everything from 745il's to Mini's and had very positive feedback from everyone. If you need one tire for the best possible year round performance this is probably it. A couple others to note though, Cooper Zeon rs3-a Nitto Motivo Yokohama YK580 and Pirelli has a new tire called the P7 that looks promising but new enough that I don't have any feedback yet I also whole-heartedly agree with aerosaaber - you can't beat having two sets of tires! |

I am running Conti DWS for my winter A/S tires and love them so far. Good grip in all weather conditions. Its the only tire I have had on the car so far so I cant comment on noise and how it compares to others.

I had conti's on my old car. Road noise was about the same as my current eagle gt a/s ,. Only difference I noticed was the conti's seemed to have a softer sidewall ... The eagles corner better in my opinion

I found someone (on the main classifieds of this site) selling a set of wheels and snows that were in good shape. That way I saved some cash and get the wheels for winter. Makes it a lot cheaper when you swap... It only costs me some elbow grease and time...

being a non turbo has nothing to do with it...
better grip in poor conditions is, well, better. I've put snows on (at least the front) of every car I've ever had. |

If A/S tires could pass the severe snow (mountain/snowflake) performance test, they would. They can't. We tried one of the highest rated A/S for snow - Michelin Pilot Sport - and they sucked - my wife would not drive the car. There is one "All Season" with the SS rating - the Nokian WRG2. They're relatively expensive, noisy when worn - and once you get them, you won't drive anything else unless you go to winter and summer tires. |

Those WRG2's look a lot nicer than the WR's I had so many years ago.
I'd probably get them for the wife's car since she doesn't want to get 2 sets of tires (don't ask me why) |
