Default Stock Dimming mirror plug and play for GC8?

I did a search, but it seems most people are only interested in the aftermarket mirror with the temperature reading.

I'd like to know if the optional self-dimming mirror available for the WRX is plug-and-play for my 2001 RS.

Thanks in advance...

I've read before that the RS is not wire equipped to handle the mirror, but I'm sure it can be done.

Nope ,,not prewired.Easy to do though,,you tap into your map lites above the mirror for power. You will also need to glue the mounting plate to your windshield. It mounts to the windshield not the headliner like your RS does.Im not sure if the mounting plate comes with the compass dimming miiror kit though so check it out.
I like mine and switched it into my rex.Bigger mirror also.

Cool. Thanks for the information, guys. I'll be doing this mod soon. I can't stand to be blinded by SUVs anymore.
