High flow down pipe catted on 06?
Does the 06 wrx have catted up and down pipes? How can I get the high flow while still meeting emissions??
Would an access port regulate the car to pass the emissions test?

Technically, altering the factory cats is illegal in the first place. High flow cat or not.
Yes, the CEL can be deleted and if you dont have a sniffer test, you will pass. |

Your up pipe is not catted and your downpipe is catted. Yes the AP does have a feature to turn off any CEL so if your emissions is ODBII only, then you should pass with flying colors.

There is an OBDII port right under your steering wheel. It's shaped like a rectangle that's short on one side. Anyways, some states only use a machine that plugs into this port and connects to the car's computer to check for any CELs the car may have. If you don't have a cat, then your car will produce a CEL that the inspectors machine can read. It will see that you're O2 sensor isn't working(even though that's not the case) and they will fail you on your inspection. However, the AP turns off the CELs so that the OBDII reader can't see them, thus giving you a pass.

Out here in utah, they do a visual inspection as well as the sniffer test, so I think i have to have something on there to make sure i pass.

How often do you have to go through inspections?

I'm in UT as well . I've only been here 3 months though, so I didn't even know that lol. Also, to answer your original question about getting high flow cats, I'm pretty sure that the cat is all one piece with the downpipe. I can't remember for sure as it's been a while since I've looked at my stock pipe, but just grab an aftermarket downpipe with a highflow cat and you shouldn't have any problems with emissions plus you can run stage 2. It's true what everyone says about stage 2 being night and day from stock. I'm running the TXS catted stealthback and I don't smell any odor from the exhaust.

If you want to go catless, do it. Then once a year swap the stock DP back on. It only takes an hour to do once you have done it once already really.
