Thanks for the info, I was told a new BOV will hold more boost. Research was done and I guess it was wrong, but I live in Massachusetts

Your mods listed won't require anything to hold more boost....your turbo isn't capable of creating more boost. BOVs are notorious for leaking and if not adjusted correctly (or not adjusted at all), leaking in other ways.

Please post what tuner you went to so I can NEVER go to them (and so other people from Mass steer clear).

Gl, sounds like you have bigger issues than the BoV.

Those puffs of smoke aren't supposed to happen, let's put it that way.

Fasho! Look, the car is designed to have the boost returned to the system. Venting it away makes the car have to adjust...not good. You can upgrade, but go with a recirculating valve.

nope.
An ECU reset wouldn't hurt, though.

Disconnect battery for ten minutes and pump the brakes a few times, reconnect, let car idle for ten-fifteen minutes, drive normally.

OK........ PERRIN BOV VTA is a POS. The BOV was stuck, simple fix, I am a retard, and thats what was causing the issue. I guess the o-ring fell off, and it got stuck open. The tune shop put my OEM BOV back on and told me to contact perrin to get a non VTA and if I run into issues, they could call the shop. My oil change was done last week and they said it will be ok, but change my spark plugs in like 15,000k. MY Dealer said next oil change they will do a couple tests to make sure everything is ok. 2011 WRX 278whp 12,000 miles

not sure where exactly in Mass you're located, but if you're looking for a reputable tuning shop, Dent Sport Garage (DSG for short), http://www.dentsport.com/, is very good, and well worth the drive.
