Default the history of Subaru and Fuji Heavy Industries

feel free to chime in

how was Subaru started? The goal? What does FUJI industries do? Did Subaru 'study' other manufacture during the early days? my wrx looks somewhat similar to an Audi.

For "what do they do" part, take a look at annual report, look closely about "segment breakdowns." There you can see what business segment, or which geographical segment brings cash, spends the most, and assets are allocated. It's a good start if you are researching a company.
