Default EJ18 issues... MAS related?

Okay here is my issue...
First it's a 97 Impreza Brighton (ej18)

It does not like to go high in the RPM's most of the time
I can not tell you how high it will go since I am sans tach..

Starts off fine then all of a sudden I lose power and it feels like I am hitting the rev limiter... I know this is not the case though.
In 2nd gear it will not go over 30MPH... 3rd around 45ish 4th gear - 60ish and 5th 80-85MPH..

Now the other day it was warmer during lunch and it seemed to be driving fine but then it would start this again..

My only real clue would be that it is something with the MAS since I don't know much about them...
Any Ideas as to what would be causing this issue?

Also the car came with a WeaponR intake and I haven't been able to get a stock intake yet...

Go check to see if your MAF got wet. Pull the POS filter off the WR intake tube and pull the MAF too. Blow out the MAF and replace the filter with something that works a bit better. You're in limp mode because the MAF got contaminated......

Okay... I'll check. I have already replaced the filter with a real one until I get a stock intake...

Will I need to reset the ECU to get it out of limp mode? Or will it just work once the MAF is cleaned?

Reset can't hurt.
