I need your help with your numbers..
Hey guys,
I'm thinking about doing a flash project just for fun. I started it last night and basically I got the speedometer and rpm meter ready, the original idea is just to show how the speed correspond to rpm, time, and gears. But it might be interesting to add a few buttons so you can change gears yourself!! So here is what I need your help with numbers: On a stock WRX, 1st gear = ? rpm = ? sec = ? mph 2nd gear = ? rpm = ? sec = ? mph and so on.... It would be a great help if you can give me some ideas

I wanted to do a similar thing...but rpm and boost gauge superimposed. I wanted to see the boost guage slamming to full boost then the tach zooming up, then boost falling during shift, etc...
Mmmmm too bad I only have a vivid animation, and my skillz aren't at flash. -=eric |

That's a really cool idea. I'd help but unfortunately I don't have a WRX (yet).

well, this ain't gonna be exact, but the true MT drivers will kill me for ever posting this, but here's my observation on the tach while I drive.
1st gear is generally 5 mph / 1K 2nd gear is generally 10 mph / 1K 3rd gear is generally 15 mph / 1K And I don't do the rest cause I dont' have to rev match it... But this works well for me for when I have to rev match anything under 4th especially for 1st gear which is sometimes impossible to get into. I had to get like 4.2K to get in around 20 mph, but that is ok since I'm not shifting fast to prevent grinds... If people have some other numbers, then please by all mean correct me. I would love some other numbers to rev match by. Just that I base all these by my 2K readings on all 3 gears. |
