Default Got Rear Ended:( Need new rear bumber :)

Hey guys,
I was stopped at a stop light today and got rear ended by a guy with a trailer (guy was in a pickup trunk).
Well at first all i saw was part of hte bumber bagged out from flush under the driver side tail light so that is all that is on the police report...
Then i get home and i see that to the right of hte lisense plate is a huge dent that is hard to see until u find it, then it sticks out lol..

Anyway my back is a little sore but we'll see how it goes in that area.
But anyway... I need a new rear bumper, I'm thinking ill get an aftermarket one (maybe the SYMS version 1 bumber?).
How much does a new bumper cost (OEM rear bumber) w/installation and also how much just for the bumper.
Anyone have any pics of the SYMS rear bumber either?
The one with the vents on either side...

Thanks soo much guys.
Mike

Default get yourself check...

by a physician. DOn't go to the ER if you can avoid it. Cheaper in the doctors office. Just get the pain documented, back injuries sometimes doesn't show up till later. Get it documented. At least if you have recurring pain later, you can make a claim. Pain from trauma sometimes does'nt show till 24 hours later.

I am an admission RN in one of the major hospital in the island, and I see a lot of these old injuries come up later and patients relate it from old accidents or injuries.

Just my .02 cents.

I think it is the rear bumper you are referring to:

Default go to your primary physician...

your regular doctor...
then if he think you need to be seen by a orthopedic doctor, then he will give you a referral. The important thing is it is documented.

let me know what happen with the MD. Tell the secretary that you in an accident and that you are in pain and that you need an appointment ASAP.

They usually accomodate you right away. A little trick of the business.

Default I don't know if it still work this way..

but when I got rear ended, I called the offender's insurance company and they told me to see a repair shop and get 3 estimates, then bring the estimate to them and right there and then, they cut a check. I never got the bumper repaired, I was able to fix it myself. I never called my insurance company and my rate did not go up because of this. Make sure you do all this within 24 hours, if they (other insurance) give you a hazzle, call your insurance carrier and let them go after them. That is their job; most likely your rate won't go up anyway.

Just a thought.

Here is what my sister did. She went to a repair shop, had them print out the estimite, she faxed them the print out, they sent her the check.

After that, it is up to you to do what you want with the money. My sister for instance is getting a full body kit with the money.

Pretty sweet deal, usually aftermarket stuff is cheaper then OEM so you get some extra cash too.
