2005 SCCA Auto-cross Rule Changes?
When will the 2005 SCCA auto-cross rule book be available and what are the changes that affect Subaru's?
I know the question is pretty broad but this year was my first year of auto-x and I don't know when they announce and finalize what class changes/rule changes are going to happen. Can anyone help? I know Honda S2000's are moving to AS, will the STi still be able to compete in ESP, what's the deal with STU, and how can I read the latest issues of Fast-track, I don't have a subscription. I don't think the SCCA website is the greatest with regards to SOLOII. Lots of questions? Thanks, Justin

If you are a member of the SCCA you should get your subscription to SportsCar, which contains Fasttracks.
Or, just go to the link above. |

S2000's are going to AS. The STI will have just as much trouble (or not) staying with them as they did the corvettes.
The STI's are staying in ESP. They got beat this year in ESP at nationals, which is irrefutable proof by the grassy knoll hunting sand-bagger theorists that the car is too fast for the class That's not to suggest they aren't right, right? No action's been taken (or at least announced) so far as the prosolo classing goes where it's thought by some that they reeeeeally have an advantage. In STU awd cars are limited to 245's while f-rwd's get 275's. That could make for some interesting mixes. So far as fastracks are concerned, KC seems to be able to detect their presence the second they're posted. I recommend breaking into his place of work and peeking over his shoulder. That is .... when he isn't smuggling cars in and out of the Providence airport. |
