Default I take back everything I said about the 06s...

Ok, now that I've seen the official 60pics I've changed my mind. Tora you were right :-) lol

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...4&page=1&pp=25

Loving the new front end on the Sti (in the official "wallpaper" pic). I guess the first autoshow pics didn't look too good due to the harsh lighting. Anyways, looking forward to seeing it in person. May be time for a partout? Hmmm what would be cheaper...a trade in or front end conversion? hehe

Meh, I still am not very fond of the front end.

I believe the pics that Vege shared with us exaggerated the nose of the car more due to the camera's apature setting and the angle it was taken at - it made the nose look very pronounced.

Now that there are photos which show the car in its entirety (sp?) the lines do flow very well.

Again, the wisdom of tora has shown us all. Listen to the tall white lanky Subaru guru for he knows we will change our minds!

I just hope I they don't change the nose on the Legacy too radically. That, and they ditch the back-up lights in the middle of the tail-gate on the wagon. I can hope, can't I?

Still doesn't do anything for me

The front end of the car is way too busy with the new grill and hood. I'm pretty sure some of the Japanese tuners will fix that though. Even the R2 Custom looks way better without the corporate grill.

The car does look a lot better in person. It's like the tribeca, pictures just don't justify it

It's not any more busy than the GC which has more going on than any two other cars put together, hood scoop, two hood vents, about ten other wholes, fog lights....but I love it.

I still don't like the rear badge. The show pics made the front grill stick out, but in these official photos it doesn't look too bad. I wonder if we'll get the rear wiper.

What the heck is with the fascination of rear wipers? I've never had one on any of the cars I've driven, and I've never missed it (or is this like one touch down for the windows? You don't miss it until you've used it?)

It's a bit better than the last photo, but there's still something about it..It seems like the hood's too long, and the badge is too big.

The hood looks longer because of the "line" that is drawn from the nose of the grill (for the lack of a better description) out towards the edge of the hood scoop. It's that line that gives the hood a sense of elongation.

I like the new look on the STi, but it looks cheap on the non STi models IMO.

with some proper photos, we can now see the 2006 is actually pretty nice. I say its better than the 04-05 for sure, level with the 02-03, but falls short of beating out the 99-01 of course

Still 280hp JDM STi...

Hope the USDM STi gets a bump to like 350 or 375 (like the USDM EVO vs JDM EVO)

Otherwise it is going to be hard to justify spending 20G++ on new head/tail lamps and front bumpers.

I read in the subaru press releaase the new sti comes with 442 nm torque that is 325.99 ft/lb. I expect the hp will be up as least as much. 300-350hp I can take but if it is up near 350-400 range I'll be very jealous.

From the specs it still stays at 280hp, but the torque increased. But damn, Subaru finally realized that its time for us to get projectors because even Mazda 3 has them

For people who watched the video, didn't it lag and needed to buffer because mine did. And the STi that Tomy Makinnen tested has mods on it? it has masked head and tailights
