I have two welds that have failed. I almost took care of this myself.. But I eneded up going to the dealer to see if they would cover it... I was quit surprised they said they would cover it all!!! Plus a rental car for 40 a day. My pedal assembly broke too from it being weak. they are taking care of that as well. I was completely shocked when they said they would do it no problems. I have 138k on the car. I guess Im just one of the lucky ones since I do a lot of business there for small parts and projects. I will most likely buy them jimmy johns or something.

Default Rivet Size/Type?

Does anyone know what size and type rivets to use to fix the spot welds? I got about as far as blind stainless... but as for diameter and length?

My morning project, it sure does feel good being able to shift normally again. I used stainless steel rivets. The hardest part was drilling the holes, until a neighbor lent me a better drill bit. Since I didn't need access from the inside, the whole project was very easy (less than an hour) with the right tools (good drill bit, bolt-cutter style rivet tool). Let's hope it lasts.

how much was your bill? Im fighting with SOA right now. the dealer near me quoted 2600$ to "fix" by doing like 20 spot welds and putting in a new clutch pedal assembly.

i called the law office that handled the class action lawsuit so hopefully i can get help. I have an 09 wrx hatch and im the third owner. SOA keeps saying "you are the third owner and its way passed warrenty" they did immediately agree to 500$ but thats not right.
