Default What is the factory orginal 2003 XS radio / 6 CD Changer / Cassette worth?

Hello

I am trying to get a handle on what my 2003 XS factory original 6 CD Changer / Radio / Cassette Player is worth?

I called a couple of dealers, and it appears that if you wanted it new from Subaru it would cost $1,160 out of the box.

I am putting in a new satellite head unit since I a moving to a rural area. My 2003 XS Forester is only 1 month old

I see that there are some OEM subaru parts on eBay that sell for $150, but they look older, and I don't know if they are the 6 CD changer model or the quality of them.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&category=6774

So what do you think would be a fair price for the 6 CD Changer / RAdio / Cassette Player out of my 2003 XS Forester

Thank you

See the thing is there is a huge mark up on stuff like that...If I were to get an option to not have the system installed and take another $1160 off the price of the car I would!

for that kind of cash you can get a great deck speakers amp and sub if you play your cards right and shop around.

The resale value for that stuff is really low because people can get better aftermarket stuff for way less cash. Don't expect to get anthing near $1160 consider it a great deal if you get even a 1/4 of that. Sub $200 is more then likely and still high if you ask me.

Recently purchased a 02 WRX head ...which is virtually the same as you have......for $200 shipped. The going price is low...$100 (hard to find) to a high of $250 (pretty common).
There is a growing market and the active doers are buying them up at the low end and reselling them ......smart business I'd say!
Sorry .......I know you would like to get some decent $$$$$$..
but thats what I see happening. Probable max return would be ebay with a reserve.

OK.....hope that helps...

This HU is slightly superior to that in the wrx as it has the weatherband feature. Maybe you'd get $300 for it.
