Default Popping like Rice crispies

Well today i was just revvin the engine when i was about to launch, and oh my did i hear some loud pops. My windows were up and i was revvin at about 4000 and it was just going pop pop pop pop and i could hear it from the inside. Is this a good thing? there any way to fix it cause i know its not suppose to do that.

Was it wet outside? You need to get your ignition system tuned up. Wires, Plugs, Ignition Coil and maybe the starter. Get a tune up...

no it was pretty sunny. Do they have ignition coils for an 05 impreza? I dont know if the plugs/wires are the same as previous year imprezas. I dont know who makes those coils for my car either, last time i checked MSD didn't make it for my car.

Whoa now, he said it's an 05, how many miles do you have? and what are your modifications? Unless you have well over 60k your ignition should be fine.

Does the popping happen as you rev up, hold steady RPM, or as it revs down?

running rish means in the air fuel ratio of your combustion chamber, it's no "50/50" or whatever the correct ratio is for your car, . running rih means you have too much fuel and not enough air.....

do you only have a header ? how about a mroe free flowing exhaust ? what about an intake ?

50 to 50 A/f ratio would flood the motor with gas. i think stoch is around 14 to 1.

If i were you i would but all the stock parts back on and take it to the stealership.

Its normal.

With a less restrictive exhuast system, you naturally hear more of the afterfire that occurs in your motor.

Don't worry about it.

So I shouldn't worry about this?

If my car is running "rich" how would i fix this? ECU? Reflash?

about 80% of the Subies out there run rich, it just happens once you start to mod. one way to tell woudl be to look at your exhaust tip. if there is a lot of black carbon build up, than its running rich.
