Default CEL Lean on bank one ??

Ok I have a major hesitation, surge on very light throttle in any gear, 5 to 10% throttle. As the weather has cooled it has become worse. I can drive the car hard and it feels perfect. CEL is on and comes up with lean on bank 1. The only mod is HKS downpipe everthing else is stock, only 5500 miles any suggestions??

"Bank 1" on a WRX means the front A/F sensor. And you don't have an aftermarket intake?

Ok stock intake, no mods there. Where is the front A/F sensor I can at least make sure its pluged in Thanks.

actually Jon Bank 1 refers to the primary injector bank being lean, i.e.: all 4 cylinders.

You have a vacuum leak somewhere. Almost guarantee it, that or you have a bad FRP.

More info, when I start the car from cold, as it comes down from the fast idle it starts to run on 3 cyls I have isolated it to number 1, when it gets to normal temperature its on 4 again. Does that mean bad injecter? Thanks Jeremy for your reply , what is FRP? Thanks.

FPR=Fuel pressure Regulator, sounds like you have a dead injector, i rec you take it to the dealer, you'll need to check for injector pulse. If you want to know if the injector is firing you can pick up a $10 Automotive Stehoscope(spelling??) from your local pep boys, auto zone, checker, whatever and listen to all 4 injectors, you should get the same sharp clicking noise out of them. Make sure the vaccum hose to the fuel pressure regulator hasn't fallen off(since it runs off #1). Do you hear any strange whistling?? it honestly sounds like a dead injector(rarely see harness problems, unless it's my mom's saturn which just instantly lost injector pulse on #1 2 weeks ago)
