Car will not start when hot
I have a 2004 WRX with the only relevant modification being that I have a short ram intake. I have never thrown any codes during these occurrences.
I realize that this symptom has been posted before, but I have further information different to what I have read over in other posts. Months ago, during the heat of day, the car would simply not start after running. It happened about 3 times over a one week period. It would continually crank very strongly, but there would be nothing beyond the cranking. After a few minutes of sitting, it would inexplicably start up. This went away until just this past week. I filled up with Murphy USA gas (please don't scold me, I figured I'd compare MPG out of curiosity), and then drove home and parked it overnight. It started up in the morning on the way to stop at a store to pickup some headphones before a workout. Went in, picked up the headphones, went to leave, and the car wouldn't start. Tried changing the way I was attempting to start my car as many different ways as possible, tried moving it in gear, out of gear, unplugging the battery for 15 minutes. Decided I would just run to the park for my run and swim. Came back to my car afterwards, it started right up. Let my car sit for about a half hour, then it lagged on startup (not a usual issue with my car). Drove fine for about two miles, stalled out at a red light. I was in neutral with the A/C on, so this should not happen. Pushed the car into a parking lot, wouldn't start. Got a ride to work and then back to the car 6 hours later, car started up fine. Car kept on with not starting during the heat of day, so I would pop the hood for a couple minutes and let it sit. After a couple minutes of sitting with the hood popped, it starts right up. It would initially only happen during my Floridian heat of day. It has now began happening at night. One can only assume that since the car responds quickly to the popped hood cooling, the issue is in the engine bay, not likely to be fuel pump/filter/vapor lock..etc.. The onset of this occurrence being directly after getting what is known to be poor fuel leads me to think that it is the fuel pressure regulator. I have read up on the other posts where people do fuel pump and filter -> coolant temp sensor -> cam sensor -> crank sensor -> **** their pants in fury after spending the money and still having the issue. IACV and MAF have recently been cleaned. Spark plugs are still fresh. Car drives very well, drives perfectly normal as long as it starts up besides my one experience on my way to work. If anyone has any insight in this, I would appreciate it.

Check fuel pressure AFTER the filter.
