SOA Blog, I may have missed it but will the 10' Legacy and Outback have speed sensitive radio?

The 2009 cars have speed-sensitive volume available (though that doesn't mean anything since other features have been removed on the 2010 model). I can't find any mention of speed-sensitive volume control in the official SOA press information, but the Cars101 site does say the available Harman-Kardon system will have speed sensing volume control.

If we got everything we asked for, the price would be $5-10K higher. Are you willing to pay that for what you want?

If it has an STI badge and a boatload of power added, I'd say, "oh yeah!" (well, after my Tribeca's paid off anyway)

SOA Blog is there any plans to redo the "Subaru vs others" video? The one with the hill climb and the roller tests. It sure would be nice to see the hill climb with the 4EAT now that it doesn't have VTD and the CVT in general. The GT and 3.6R on the rollers would be really nice to see.

Peace,

Greg

Thanks (and I see you edited your response). I see your point, though I guess it depends on your definition of "future" products. Obviously some information about the 2010 Legacy/Outback is out now, even though they are not available.

I understand the need to keep information away from the competitors, but I don't think you end up "cannibalizing" too much of your sales. Yes, come people may end up deferring their purchase if they know another model will be coming with features they want, but people generally only buy a new car once every few years, so you are just trading sale of one model for another (which might be higher priced and higher margin).

I guess I'm not trying to get real advanced "top-secret" information, but just whether or not the Outback line is going to be augmented with another model/trim line. Based on the information out so far, I would say that I am likely to buy a new 2010 Outback this year, as soon as they are available (pending test drives and pricing information), and I know I will be royally p****d if less than 6 months later an XT version is released. I know that the manufacturers have to walk a tightrope, but I am just giving you one consumer's perspective.

Seem like more and more people are trying..

June.

The NY show in April and pricing now seems to have brought people forward in their minds about this car. It's a while until launch yet.

Just curious, SOA Blog, have you driven it? (If yes, which model/tranny? I won't ask how you liked it.)

We just got the new Legacy 3.6R and Outback delivered to our dealership today....there was also a LGT on the truck as well....They look MUCH better in person than in pics. Gotta say. Also, EXTREMELY comfortable seat...the leather is much better...only downside is the seats up front are a little flat.

No, that would be the A/C blower motor!! Every Subaru I've owned so far has had its A/C blower motor go out at around 64,000 miles including my current Tribeca (just in time for 96 degree heat wave mind you!)! The dealership is STILL waiting for the part to come in and another heat wave is on the way...

+1 on CVT chain life. I was talking with our local Subaru tech. He's a Master Technician with 30+ years in Subarus and might be the oldest Subaru Master Tech in the nation and was VERY unhappy with the new CVT info. He said that Subaru must have a short memory as they used it before with much fail.

Your master tech should wait until he hears more about this tranny before he spouts off. This is an all-new unit.. nothing like the old one of 20 years ago and FHI is very confident about its durability.
