Guess they will be bringing up the rear again next season.
What has happen to this team?
They been around forever.
And now teams like Haas & FI are beating them with a lesser budget and experience drivers.
And McLaren is following the same path as Williams.
williams are def the last independent. Hass and sauber are basically ferrari B teams so its no rel wonder they are beating them. All the dev is done by ferrari so its no wonder they get more out of a low budget

I'd put Haas in more of a customer everything category. I've been surprised how well their chassis has turned out. A dallara job iirc?

Just becuase they buy as much as they can from Ferrari doesn't mean they are the b team. Ferrari had a better idea show up late last year. (fiat/alpha)

So Schumacher won the F3 title... He has enough points to enter F1.

He finished 12th in F3 last year. Definitely needs at least one year in F2 or Super Formula first.

I don't recall all the rules but I think he has a few yrs to get his super license or the points expire.

So its either Ferrari or Mercedes long term. Tough call...

He should go to Ferrari. At least the will get you into a F1 car. (Sauber)
Mercedes doesn't do that. Ask Ocon,Wherlien.

Speaking of which, Wherlien is off to Formula E next year, so that's one fewer driver in contention for the remaining seats.

Also, Perez just posted "Exciting news coming soon! Stay tuned... #forcecheco" so it seems pretty safe to say that he's staying at RPFI, presumably alongside Stroll.

You have a point... but in Schumacher's case, I don't think they leave him high and dry if Merc gets him. There will definitely be a fight over the GOAT Jr.

Has Williams closed out their seats yet? Would they swoop in for Schumi Jr. and hope that a **** load of revenue comes their way from the sale of F1 shirts, hats, etc. bearing the Schumacher name?

Williams need money, and not a name. My opinion: Mick Schumacher inherited the name of his father, but not his ability

No, they have 1 seat still open (Russell is in the other) but that's highly unlikely. Having 2 very inexperienced drivers is not working for them. I know the car is a dog and all, but still.

My bet is Ocon is getting the last Williams seat with Mercedes help and Stroll and Perez to FI.

I'd be ok with that, other than Stroll's dad buying him yet another F1 seat.

Latest rumor is Albon to STR, but we'll see. He's already signed to Nissan Formula E next year, but nothing some money can't solve if things go that way.

No, his name is always listed as a possibility at Williams since he's available and willing but he's never really talked about beyond that. I'd like to see it, though.

Yeah I'd like to see Kubica in a seat too. Starting to think it's not likely based on press coverage lately.

So Sirokin and his big wad of cash is out?
He did have a 2 year deal.

Mick Schumacher says it's "clear" that he is already talented enough to race in Formula 1, but suggests he will not take a 2019 race seat as he wants to hit the top with a chance of competing immediately. Schumacher secured the European Formula 3 title last weekend and has been linked with Toro Rosso.

The son of seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher secured his first junior title thanks to a spectacular surge in the second half of the F3 season, winning eight times in one 11-race stretch.

With Mercedes and Ferrari reportedly jockeying for potential futures with the 19-year-old, Schumacher is certainly not short of suitors.

However, a season in Formula 2 looks to be the best bet for 2019 – with Prema potentially offering him a seat in the series after guiding him through F3 for the past two years.

"I could drive in F1, that's clear. It's still my big goal but it's still very unrealistic," he told Sat.1.

"In order to be 100 per cent prepared to be there as a full race driver, it's necessary to go through all the different series of formulas."

Dr Helmut Marko has insisted that Schumacher is not under consideration for Toro Rosso's spare 2019 seat, although Pascal Wehrlein snubbing the team for a Formula E seat could change things.

Toro Rosso are apparently hoping to sign former academy driver Alexander Albon, but the Thai racer's switch is made complicated as he has agreed a long-term deal to race in FE for Nissan.

Could be. "2 year deal" generally means 1yr + 1yr option.

How Hamilton can clinch title at US GP

• If Hamilton wins and Vettel is third or lower

• If Hamilton finishes second and Vettel is fifth or lower

• If Hamilton finishes third and Vettel is seventh or lower

• If Hamilton finishes fourth and Vettel is eighth or lower

• If Hamilton finishes fifth and Vettel is ninth or lower

• If Hamilton finishes sixth and Vettel is 11th or lower
It rained all day so both sessions were pretty useless. Oh, except for Seb managing to shoot himself in the foot yet again:
