What's the place really like?
I hear there are some dangerous corners, but I'm twitching for some track time.

Is there any way to sneak in and get a peek at the place ahead of time? Or could you maybe point out on the map where the walls are, etc...?

there are only two walls.. there is one on the "outside" of the long straight, and the pit lane wall is on the "inside" of the start-finish straight. the surface isn't the besst, it's getting pretty badly worn and there are some rough spots... the one spot i'd be worried about is the "swamp turn" - a lot of people go too fast and loose it in this turn, where the grassy area isn't the smoothest (know someone who rolled there...) I've heard one story of a driver for lotus who managed to spin a super 7 into the swamp on the inside of that turn.

there are some elevation changes and some real nice corners, the esses are a lot of fun and the skeethouse turn is interesting.

map for those who have not seen one:

They have a flag school coming up april 26-27 where they would probably let you check out the track if interested.

Its a fun track. I spend a day out there last year in my WRX. The track is very brake heavy, so you should make sure to change your fluids/pads b/f heading out. Otherwise, its certainly worth the $100.
