front strut bar help
Could i get some measurements from some of you.
I'm looking to see what the distance is between the strut s. I'm looking for a front strut bar but want to make sure they will fit first. As i have a 2013 crosstrek, i want to see if they will match up. If some of you could measure the distance between corresponding bolts that would be great. Thanks

Front strut bars for the GD chassis are a dime a dozen, Im sure someone could let you test fit one. We take them off all the time when they run into clearance problems with other more useful upgrades.
You didnt ask, but Ill tell you a front strut bar does next to nothing on most subarus (besides the aesthetic appeal) M@ |

Get a lower brace instead...you WILL feel a difference with it. |

But also remember, for the newer models ('08+), I'm sure they don't have these supplied by eBay vendors yet. |

Save your money, don't get a front bar. Use your money some place else.

It was said somewhere, that Subaru actually gave the Crosstrek a much more reinforced chassis then the standard Impreza already, to better put up with offroad abuse one would assume. I doubt there is any bracing out there period for this car, let alone any that would yield any substantial improvements.
What is it your trying to get your Crosstrek to be better at? -Anthony |

i actually found that a PROPER front strut bar(a 'solid' one piece one, no joints) was a great mod for the gd chassis.....ESPECIALLY when combined with a lower arm bar and hd cowl stays and other than stock front strut tops my 02 creaked and groaned and popped quite a bit going down a friends unpaved driveway.....added the front tower bar and my friend, who was the most 'un-car' guy i ever knew, noticed the difference immediatly and said the car felt 'more solid' than it had been...and NO creaks or pops or groans anymore.... wonder why?? the front end of the gd chassis is as stiff as an over cooked noodle ...look at how far the firewall deflects on a gd when you push hard on the brake pedal that is why a mc brace improves the brake feel so much ...dunno as much about the gr...but there are a good few that have had cracked firewalls....maybe something to RECONSIDER in your modding approach |

So that's a upgrade you could consider. I haven't messed with a Crosstrek yet, I know the normal standard Impreza accepts WRX parts. Haven't looked at a Crosstrek close enough to see if all the underpinnings are the same, though I suspect they are. -Anthony |
