— Campaign Involves Legacy, Outback, Impreza and Forester Models —
CHERRY HILL, N.J., March 3, 2004 — Subaru of America, Inc. today announced a customer service campaign for certain 2000 through 2002 model year Legacy and Outback models with 2.5 liter engines, and 1999 through 2002 model year Impreza and Forester models with 2.5 liter engines. This campaign involves a possible small external coolant leak at engine cylinder head gaskets as a result of normal expansion and contraction of engine components when heating and cooling.
Approximately 376,000 vehicles are potentially affected. All potentially affected vehicles will have the Genuine Subaru Cooling System conditioner added to the vehicle cooling system by an authorized Subaru dealer at no cost to the owner to eliminate possible coolant leakage.
Notification of owners began in mid-February and will run through early May 2004. Owners should contact their local Subaru dealer upon notification.
