Stroudsburg Area, what about you?

If you need any help also just send me a message. I still had trouble just because every install video wasn't direct and they were done on Limited trim models of the STI or WRX and I have a Premium.

- Finished up painting the 2.5RS wheels during the week. Took them to Curry's just down the road from me to get new summer tires mounted up today - 205/55-16 Firehawk Indy 500s (the new style, not the old Wide Oval Indy 500s).

- Put said wheels/tires on the car and put the winter wheels/tires back down in the basement.

Default Map sensor

Swapped a 96 single port 2.2 into my sf5 and can't get the map sensor to read. Pulled 22 of them from the junk yard and 30 of those online filters, and I think about 20 sensor switches all in various combinations of them and still can't get the p0106 to go away 🤷🏼*♂️

Finished the install of my mudflaps. Started late last night and got tired after installing the driver's side. finished up the passenger side today and realized I needed to move some washers around. You'd think Rally Armour would create better diagrams for their kits. Nah.

- Saw an ad in the '93-01 Classifieds for a ZEROSports radiator shroud for $130.

- Removed the A/C lines for troubleshooting / refurb. Even with new valve cores, both the HI and LO pressure ports leak when I disconnect the gauge manifold lines after pulling a vacuum on the system.

- While I was under the hood, thought to myself, "Hey, howzabout I make my own radiator shroud?" A little cardboard template work, trace it and cut it out of a sheet of Home Depot / Lowe's aluminum that I've had forever, and BAM!

Of course it's completely unnecessary, and even if it's doing something I'll never know it since I only have the factory dummy coolant temp gauge, but sometimes it's nice to actually start and complete a project in one sitting.

Very nice! I did the same thing with a random piece of alum from Home Depot to my coupe recently as well. Yours looks better though.

I like it! The radiator mounts could use some rattlecan rehab.

^^^ Yeah, I had the same thought. Didn't do the other night, as it was already late enough. I'll probably do that this weekend.

In other news, I grabbed some trailing arms off an Outback at Crazy Ray's in Jessup. Need to knock the bushings out so I can install some TiC bushings; I did the ones in the knuckle a while back, but wanted to grab a spare set of arms to do the forward bushings since getting the old ones out is a bit more of a chore.

Not just probably... I will do that this weekend!

Got one knocked out. Man, that is a pain in the ass!

Not pictured is the bushing sleeve, which I was able to push right out of the bushing by hand. I don't think that's the way it's supposed to be!

Anyone around the DC/NoVA area want to teach me how to do lower control arms and possibly struts/endlinks?

Have an old Legacy that's making lots of clunking noises. I've done some simple things like brakes, CV joint, etc before, and would love to learn, but would need someone with a garage/tools and that could walk me through it.

Got the other trailing arm bushing knocked out last night. So much fun!

Now I need to drill the forward bushing shells for grease zerks, shave the bushing faces down a bit (since every bushing manufacturer seems to make their bushings too fat), then install the bushings in the arms. Not sure when I'll actually get the TAs on the car, as the next couple weekends are booked with other activities.

Waited too long to get this done, but finally got pro-tuned at TurboXS last night, by the skillful hands and mind of Jermaine. I just wanted to post up because Jermaine did an incredible job. I appreciated his attention to detail and the great care he provided my vehicle. He spent the time explaining everything and gave me a great behind-the-scenes.

I highly recommend anyone looking for a pro-tune to hit up Jermaine and TurboXS. And even if you're not looking for a tune, but are looking for quality designed and developed parts that are tested, look their way. Running a TurboXS DP on my car and couldn't be happier with the quality and durability.

Default What did you really do to your car today? V3.1

#iseveryonedead

Followed the 15+ Sti Rear Fog thread suggestions and switched my JDM Rear Light from just a brake light to brake and tail. Took longer than it should. Apparently I was supposed to know that blue wires on a Korean socket are ground.

Wanted to install my Hellas and wrap the lower portion of the front bumper while it was off but since this Rear Fog took forever I had zero energy.

Gotta suds it up in the morning and head to Mach V. Maybe I’ll see some of you there.

Replaced my 3rd wheel bearing, this time it was the right front. Only one left is the right rear and just waiting for it to go bad (over 200k)

I tried to wash it.. but my complex shut off the water to the car wash area because of a recent re-seal of the asphalt. Realized after I sprayed wheel cleaner to boot . Fail.
