I just turned 33 (9/16) and am the original owner of my '07 STi and bought a Type RA in April - I love these cars and couldn't care less about what my age is while driving them.

If you like it, it fits in your budget and it makes you happy - who gives a **** about how old you are driving it.

32, 2019 STI.

As far as exterior mods and not looking ridiculous, I'm trying to go for a "upgraded factory" look, meaning no ridiculous aero parts and no muffler deletes or super drone-y exhausts.

And no self respecting adult would ever drive a hellaflush / wack cambered car.

I also have a 2002 auto wagon, which I got in a swap with a pal as he was getting too many speeding tickets. My pal had upgraded to a 350 hp STi set up and I find the 4-speed auto a pain in the butt. Do you have any thoughts of swapping out that auto for a manual? The five-speed is a lot lighter than the six that came stock in the STi. Your thoughts?

FWIW, there were only 2,000 auto 2002 WRXs imported into the US, so maybe our cars will be unique and valuable some day. Or maybe we will be long dead by that time and who cares?

I also have a Honda CBR600 and a Porsche Boxster S.

34, 2019 WRX Limited, stock exterior. I don't plan on going much beyond stage 1. Maybe stage 2 w/ EGRD/TGVD (turboback). Obviously with protune.

I do plan on some badge adjustments, going with some badge deletes, and blacking out others. Also, shifter mods, and interior white LEDs.

Not going to go whole hog with lowered suspension, etc. No thanks. I don't want to make the ride harder than it is.

I may also go with alcantara handbrake & shifter boots, and some interior trim changes (get rid of the faux carbonfiber for gloss piano black dash trim, piano black climate control buttons, piano black driver & passenger vent trim, piano black shifter tray trim), and JDM center console extension.

Mainly just a combination of driver lifestyle mods to customize and adjust the car more to my tastes. Performance and handling-wise the car is almost perfect. I was at first thinking of a radical rear end drive train modification to to make the car more rear-biased but I've nixed idea after a few thousand more miles put on the car. It's fine as-is. Maybe get a summer performance adjustment to help the car rotate better in the turns, but that's it.

I don't want to be flashy boy racer. That attracts cops. This being a WRB WRX is cop-magnet enough. I don't want more flash and bling to make them notice me even easier. Staying under their "visual radar" helps keep you under their actual radar or laser, thus helping you avoid tickets. Especially if you work in NY.

36, 2011 black STI Hatch. It's been undriveable for over a year because I somehow ran it 4 quarts low on oil (yes, I learned a valuable and expensive lesson, to check the oil every time I put in gas), and it spun a bearing. Built block on the way from rallispec, and it should be on the road again within a month. I'm learning all this as I go, so I'll just be happy tinkering and reading. This is my third comment, so I can finally post about the dang cam buckets and hopefully get some help.

I'm 36 and have a 2004 WRX rally blue wagon with a manual 5-speed. Fully stock with the exception of the Greddy exhaust.
