Default 01 rs and 02 wrx interchangeability

I've got a friend who is selling a beat up old 01 rs for cheap, it barely runs got a cracked radiator, only starts with starter fluid sprayed directly to it.

I've got an 02 wrx, and was wondering if the majority of the parts from the 01 rs would be interchanable to my 02 wrx

Why would you even consider taking parts from a 20 year old car that barely runs and clearly wasn't maintained well?

There's a lot of stuff that will bolt up to the WRX. But there's not much that I'd call an upgrade. I guess the dash is nicer in the GC8. The gearing is better but I doubt you'd want to go through all the work needed for that.
