Default Question about California smog and a built motor

Whatís up guys,
So Iím going to be putting in a forged 2.5 longblock into my bugeye with big turbo and everything that goes with that. The compression is normal. The heads are jdm big port heads with 264 Crawford cams and upgraded valvetrain, I did not get oversized valves.
My question is if I were to have that longblock and then swap all my exhaust and turbo etc. back to stock for smog and tune it for such occasion will I pass ? And yes I know the tgvs will have to be there for smog.

it should, as long as it is stock you shouldnt have too much problems getting it to pass.. the other question is what computer are you running?

If you swapped all the parts out to stock, the longblock would pass because Cali only cares about visual as long as there are no CELs, but what exactly is a "big" turbo?

Stock location with no visual branding? You're probably fine.

Rotated? No chance in hell.

At the same time if you're going to run a "big" turbo, you're probably going to run with a larger turbo inlet which will require a bigger intake which WILL be noticed.

So again, what exactly is a "big" turbo?

thats a lot of stuff to take off and ut back on every 2 years, you have to also remeber the tune will be off so the ecu or the tune will have to be removed as well. the other big problem is the cams and the heads will not be right for the stock tune. the other problem is according to a friend of mine thats a smog tech, when he went to a class to renew his license. the teacher told the class that the state is working on a way to check for tunes. so yeah its just getting harder and harder to get past all this stuff
