Cool Are these marks in my shortblock normal?

https://imgur.com/a/0qNAzfl

Just want to make sure this is ok. Motor is from an 06 FXT 5mt, has about 190k miles on it, been extremely dirty from an oil leak and who knows what else.

Refreshing the top end and just want to make sure these are normal before I put everything back together.

Thanks

Those are casting marks. Its when molted metal like aluminum (what the SB is make out of) is purred, the metal over lays itself when its cooled to quickly. Mostly cosmetic.
Yes that is normal.

Perfect thanks. I have seen videos of people rebuilding engines (as this is my first rebuild, been doing a looot of research, and haven't noticed this sort of stuff on their photos/videos).

Appreciate the quick reply!

I asked the same thing the first time I had a good look at an EJ block.
