Default 04 wrx ap stage 1 boost problems

Hey all, I have a 04 wrx and I'm running an ap with stage 1 and when I first used the map it was hitting 13.5 psi fine. Now though I can't manage anything over 9 psi for some reason. The only mods I have are a hayame 3 inch catback, cobb intake, and a perrin boost controller. What could be the reason for not hitting target boost anymore? Wastegate? Thanks in advance.

wow, my stage one hit 16lbs of boost...
yeah anyways, this could be a plethora of things. Some point at the wastegate actuator getting stuck (many subie owners PBblast this regularly). You hearing any weird noises? maybe a boost leak? Is this boost controller digital? pneumatic? i could see you running into a problem with the COBB AP getting confused by the controller.
I would say your in some half-limp mode, but thats usually associated with a check engine light...
any more info you could give us?

Possibly a wastegate problem. Check to make sure the little c clip on the actuator arm is not missing.

I'm not hearing any weird noices and I thought it was a boost leak at first but I'm not so sure now. And it's just a manual boost controller that you spin to open or close it more. Think I should try to take the boost controller out and run the ap with just that? What other info would help figure out the problem?

The c clip is still on the actuator arm.

It could be something to do with the mbc. Me personally, I would take it off and run an ebcs.

You're using a Cobb Stage 1 map? With a MBC? Yikes...

Yeah I had the mbc first because I just wanted to spool up a little sooner and get a few more psi out of the stock turbo, nothing big. And then I ended getting the Cobb ap too.

You need a proper tune for a MBC. The Cobb maps do not support them.

I'm going to put my stock one back in for now, I just have to get one of the hoses and some clamps from the subie dealer tomorrow. Not gonna use the mbc unless I actually go get it protuned when I get my up and down.
