Default EJ207 in WRX flashing CEL

Hi, so the story is that i swapped an EJ207 into a 2004 WRX about 2 years ago. Due to some circumstances i was unable to get it tuned at the time but it's crunch time now so i made a tuning appointment at PRE Racing for Monday. I mean to tow the car down there and finally get it tuned as it's been sitting for that long, 2 years.

Today i got it all prepped and pulled out of the garage. It had run fine plenty of times prior and still was running well. I decided to take it for a short 5 mile drive to get a feel for it. about 2 miles from home i saw the CEL start to flash. Mind you this is the same gas that was in it when i swapped the motor and it has a base tune on it currently from IA Performance thats very detuned. The CEL would flash then go away. Didn't do it when just sitting idling. I've read that flashing CEL means misfire. Could it be the gas, or could it be a seal went bad from it sitting too long? I'm planning to pull the plugs and see what i can find out from them. Also planning to pump all the gas out and refill with fresh stuff. Any input is welcome, i'm worried i waited too long and something went bad in the engine.

2 years of sitting gas = potential problem for sure. as dan mentioned, start there as it's likely your problem.

Misfire on all 4 cyl. When I spun a bearing my car sat for a year before I got it running. Old gas caused 4 misfires and a blinking CEL. New gas made it all go away.

It didn't go away with new gas. Seemed to at first, got it to operating temp, went another few miles and it started again.

Could the plugs be fouled or corroded from sitting? Only one way to find out I guess right...

Pulled the plugs and have oil on both passenger side plugs. What are possibly scenarios besides blown seal?

I hope to god i'm this stupid.

I had it in test mode, aka, the 2 green plugs connected. Now i just have to hope i didn't do any damage. Still doesn't explain the oil on the 2 plugs though.

Any input? I feel like a complete jackwagon.

Only after i put fresh plugs in. LOL

Oh well, i'm sure it wasn't a bad thing to have nice new plugs for tuning.
