![]() As with the CTR it's a good car but it's still a Honda Civic at the end of the day and the FWD roots always rear its head when trying to put power when the temperatures aren't hot. I see the argument for the Civic Type R heritage but I don't see it for this car.

That's nearly as many sales as the entire BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe lineup https://www.autoblog.com/2023/06/12/...-manual-sales/ Quote:

![]() The Savagegeese video is VERY informative. I do like the ITS over the CTR, but both are Unobtanium.

![]() I think if Acura offered the manual A-spec with a detuned 2.0t (like the previous Accord) instead of the 1.5t but for the same price, that would be the sweet spot for me in terms of what Honda and Acura offer.
I'd be more tempted by the Si if they offered a hatch and maybe a couple more options. And the Acura in any current trim just doesn't quite justify the upcharge for me. |

![]() Sounds like the general gestalt of the ITS reviews are:as amazing the CTR is on the track, the ITS is the superior road car driving experience...
I'm laughing at how the Smoking Tire review repeatedly insists that they are NOT comparing the ITS to the CTR ![]() Last edited by edkwon; 06-20-2023 at 01:10 PM. |

![]() I like the looks of the ITS more than the CTR, it has more creature features like heated seats that frankly I'm surprised the CTR doesn't come with; I'm equally surprised the ITS doesn't have ventilated seats though.
Is it worth the $7k price bump? can't weigh in, I don't do FWD, nor am I loyal to any particular vehicle brand, so the badge on the front doesn't matter as much as what's under the skin. To someone who is fine with FWD and wants a 6mt hot hatch, the pickings are slim, but the pickings are slim in every niche category at this point, so maybe? I wonder if the springs and dampers from the ITS are a direct fit/bolt in on the CTR; the extra 0.4" of track width could be down to wheel offsets honestly, that's only 5mm on each side, so going from a +60mm to +55mm offset (pretty sure the 2023 CTR is 19x9.5 +60mm) will give the CTR the same track width as the ITS. The lack of Phoenix Yellow is baffling, I've seen it in renders, don't know if those were official or not though; maybe they are saving it for a special edition/trim/whatever. |

No, because they are TOTALLY DIFFERENT CARS! (See Smoking Tire video ) ![]() If so, it could become a popular parts swap. Betting the wheels from the ITS will find its way onto more than a few CTRs. |

![]() watch the CTR and ITS be geometrically identical suspension setups with just 5mm wheel spacers.
![]() and here's the only real comparison we get between the two suspensions. not a lot to go on from a technical perspective that hasn't been scripted (or approved) by marketing people. |

![]() There is plenty of room in this world for both soft AND hard tacos! Don't discriminate tacos!!!
Anyway... Test drove the Type-S today after I found out from a friend/former employee that the local Acura has a "Demo" car for the next month or two. I've never driven a Civic Type-R so I figured why not. Likes: Ride is quite good, great ballance between sporty yet comfy. Steering is spot on. Drives smaller than it actually is. Has lift oversteer that feels great. Power is good, feels about as fast as my STI Type-RA did prior to its tune. Exhaust note is excellent! Dislikes: Its too big. Interior is too cheap for over $50k. Seats are terrible! No bolstering at all ![]() Don't like the heads up display. Shifter was terrible, couldn't find first gear several times. The Auto rev match is terrible, first time I've driven a car with it and it kept revving the hell out of the engine when I was trying to downshift to first while rolling! Ugg... Same price as a TSX Type-S which is a way better car, liked the interior and seats in the TSX 10x better. Dealer said no waitlist, first come first serve only. Probably $5-10k markup. Overall I would buy the Civic over the Integra for sure, mostly just for the better seat bolstering and cleaner looks of the Civic. I didn't care much for the Integra in person inside or out, I don't think it will age well unlike the new Type-R. ![]() ![]() ![]() My friends video about his test drive at the same dealer: |

![]() All the reviews of Civic Si, CTR and ITS love the shifter though!
I always wonder about Subaru vs Honda when it comes to shifter feel. My observation has been that Subaru guys tend to not like Honda shifters, and Honda guys don't like Subaru shifters. And Subaru guys don't like Subaru shifters. ![]() |

I test drove this IMMEDIATELY after the Type-S: ![]() Never drove an ND Miata before and really wanted a pallet cleanser after the Type-S. Slipped into the Miata like a glove. Even the base seats had better bolstering. The shifter was perfect, the car drove exactly how I wanted too. I would buy one over a BRZ/GR86 I think, especially due to availability and the SCCA discount I could get. Niello. Ya, might find one for less than a CTR but I get a TSX Type-S instead at the same dealer. So much nicer of a car for the same money. Last edited by Kostamojen; 06-22-2023 at 08:32 PM. |
