![]() wow what a thread revival
![]() I've always ran with A118C and G1W-C cameras and had zero issues with them except this time I wanted something more discreet. I'm now using a Yi Mirror dash cam. QUality of the video is on par with the famous G1W but I still have to find a way to minimize the vibration. I still wish they more than just 1080P https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CW4BI6G/ I sometimes take the twisty back roads on my way to work ![]() Front - Raw The only issue is the vibration of the larger rear view mirror. Front - Edited This video was edited to include the rear. Rear Camera is mounted on center, topmost portion of rear glass. Good enough for except for glass glare (I was expecting this, and other cameras I had got same issues) Last edited by biba028; 09-25-2018 at 12:49 AM. |

![]() A side by side comparison of my Blackvue DR900S vs DR750S dashcams. There's so many different dashcams on the market, these are two of the more expensive ones! I'll be doing a video soon on the quality of the A129C and the Papago Safe810 Dashcams (more budget cams)

![]() Just installed the Halocam C1 to test it out. Quick video of the install, and some example footage. Decent camera for under $150!
Going to do the A129C and the GoSafe 810 Cameras soon.. |

![]() Received the Viofo A129 dashcam back in December and did a quick unboxing/ install in my WRX. Pretty awesome dashcam with impressive quality, and also the rear FOV is slightly better than my Blackvue's rear camera. I'll post some more direct side by side comparison soon, I have a great video of them both. If you're looking for a decent dashcam and don't want to spend $600+ I'd really suggest this A129. It's probably been the best dashcam I've used thus far besides the Blackvue ofcourse. (But that's a 4K resolution cam so kind of a different comparison, not really apples to apples.)

![]() I am thinking of installing a new dash camera soon. I have been going through many reviews online and I cam across this model here: Vantrue n2 pro dual dash cam
Source: https://dashcamcar.com/vantrue-n2-pro/ A friend recommended the Viofo A119, but am not so sure. If you are a pro with these cameras, please take peak at the link and tell me what you think. |

![]() I'm thinking about picking up a Black Vue Power Magic EZ to power parking mode for my Black Vue dash cam.
Has anyone tried one of these? Which year car do you have and would you recommend it? |

![]() I've had my A129 Duo for about two months but the last few weeks it hasn't powered on. I have it plugged to the 12V socket.
Usually the green light on Viofo's 12 volt adapter lights up when I turn on my car and then a few seconds later the dashcam also powers up. Now the green light stays off. However if I unplug the USB cable from the adapter the green light turns on. I am not sure if there is something wrong with Viofo's adapter or my WRX's 12V socket. |

On another note; If you have a Blackvue (DR650 / 750 / 900 etc.) I found this Circular Polarizing Flter (CPL) that's pretty nice. I bought it from a shop here in Canada but I believe it comes from EU somewhere... |

![]() I use an autobot. It's been in the car a few years and though it's always gotten pretty hot, it's never malfunctioned. It's very compact and I've had several people compliment me on how cool it looks lol. I bought the larger S model with the "lane keep assist" warning feature just out of curiosity, but returned it because it never seemed to calibrate correctly and wouldn't give an audible warning.
The one I have is basic with no touch screen, but has wifi to load videos to your phone. you can even watch live through the phone. Takes a while to load videos and some of the grammar and spelling are incorrect in the app, but does exactly what I need. I'd post a video but there are several on youtube. |

![]() Ok, I know its been asked in this thread, but not for at least a couple of years. I'm finally ready to get a dashcam.
2 questions: 1. What's the best dashcam for an integrated setup (i.e. actually integrated into the car with no dangling wires)? 2. Who would I go to install something like that? A body shop? A performance shop? I'm leary to go to the dealership or just a basic garage mechanic. I want as clean an install as possible. |

![]() Just do the install yourself. Tucking the wire up the A-pillar and along the headliner is pretty easy. Anyway, stereo shop is where you want to go.
There's no brand that is easier to install. They're all basically the same in that regard. |

![]() I just did an install on my 2004.7 STi and wondered why I waited so long. EZ doing a Blackvue 900 dual cam. Just need to order and install the battery backup next season.

![]() Hey folks, hoping someone can help me out with product knowledge. I'm searching for a new dash cam but I can't find what I'm looking for. Hoping it's because Google's results are flooded with the same sponsored items.
I'm trying to find a four channel dash cam. I would settle for three. Now here's the caveat. I'd like the inputs to be standard/universal so I can use my own cameras. I'm not looking for a kit that supplies the external cameras and/or uses a proprietary plug. I want to use my own, off the shelf cameras Reason being I've already made progress on mounting locations (3D printed adapters, foot print requirements etc.) and have already retrofitted a back up camera that I'd like to double as the rear camera and use some kind of signal splitter for dual purpose. I can go into more details, but I'm just wondering, does no one make a dash cam that can just accept three other AV signals? I currently have a cheap dash cam that has served me well and can accept 1 input but finding anything greater than that seems difficult. |

![]() With technology changing so fast, these setups are all obsolete now. Does anybody have a current setup that is working well for you? I'm in the market and curious about what is and isn't working.

![]() I think somebody did a review on dashcams, apparently there are fundamentally 2. One sensor and two circuit boards. One is like 1.287% better than the other. The sensor is something like a cellphone sensor from 2006.
