300hp turbocharged engine in a fwd econobox civic. Lsd or not. Its a waste. I'd rather see it in an S2000.

Another car added to my list. IIRC they said they'd be bringing this next one here.

But we probably won't get THAT one, seeing how the US Civic is generally larger.

^^^Should be mandatory first car for all potential car people. Along with a GS-R, Celica GT-S, SVT Focus, etc.
Perfect example of an efficient, simple, slow car that is an absolute blast to drive hard. 160 HP of fury! |

I miss the days of fun, tossable cars that didn't weigh 6000 lbs...

agreed, looking back that GSR was the nicest car I had ever been in until that point. Before that I made my way around college in an old S10. Before that was a long line of V8 Camaro's and trans ams.
good times. |

I had a '96 civic hatch modded up back in '96 and a '96 Accord sedan BTT car'd out with real touring wing white rims on black in '98 after taking a trip to England and watching the BTCC races. So so so low were my Hondas. I almost got a purple GSR in '99, but went with the BRP sedan 2.5RS, instead. Same exact price. For 2K more I could have picked up a Type R. Should have done that. Dammit.
I would totally rock this CTR if it came with a dual clutch and boost. I like it. |

A) modding a DD is stupid B) the STi is too fast for the street After owning my STi for 3 years it's boring to me. It's wasted and I'm selling it (Ironically for an ITR...). I'm now more interested in 200hp fun cars than 400hp modded monsters. I want a genuinely fun car, not some starving for grip beast that gets to 60 in 3 seconds. |

Looking back at all the modded cars I have had, and all the money I spent, I would not change it because it taught me so much. But the truth is modding a DD above the simplest flash is quite stupid. We drive on regulated public streets in traffic most mornings and afternoons. We only get to a track 1 or 2 times a year if that. When we are at the track, the times so not count for anything if there are times at all. We, the drivers, are still the weakest link in the chain in most cases. People who spend countless dollars on mods do so mostly so they can show off their mods to other people who spend countless dollars on mods. Heavily modified cars are Coffee and Cars Prick swinging things today. But let those with money to burn, burn it. I have gone through that phase, for 26 years of modding cars. I still play with my Datsun, but with mostly refreshing the old parts, rather than grossly modding it. My Golf R has been flashed APR stage I and aside from tires, I am done. My next WRX/STI/LGT, will probably get a COBB flash, but aside from that I am done as well. I think kids need to go through a car modding phase, and it is not until you reach your upper 30's you realize how silly it all was. |

Agreed. I also think getting on track speeds up your perspective on modding and what's actually "fun". Brake ducts zip tied into your front bumper you drilled for that purpose; function > form. I always laugh at the freshly anodized tow hooks on street cars.
My ST is staying stock. I have absolutely no desire to mod it whatsoever. I also have a quite capable track car for actual performance driving to keep it at bay. But at this point, I wanted leather, heated seats, nav, bluetooth, HIDs, etc. A comfortable yet quick and decent handling DD. I still love the EG and EK hatch. |
