For me, unless there is another symptom other than clutch slip, I would not replace it. Resurface it if you want/can. Other than that I would just hit it with a angle diegrinder with a cookie on it and scuff it up a little. Now if you get it apart and the flywheel looks blue all the way around, I would maybe consider replacing it.
Plan on doing nothing to it, but if you suspect there is an issue upon inspection (its blue'd, deep scoreing, etc....) than deal with it then. The flywheel generally is not considered a wear item when things wear out naturally) g-luck |

I would install a light flywheel and a stock clutch. The light flywheel will give you better response. Don't go to light 13 lb is a good weight.

I just replaced the clutch assembly and shaved down my flywheel. Time and money were concerns. Got a good deal on the clutch. $200 from Sachs and just did it in my shop with a tranny jack that almost killed me and my tech. I think I need new mounts on my tranny and shifter. There's a lot of vibration when I brake coming through the shifter and my 2,4 are no longer crisp they are extremely sloppy and the shifter comes back farther now.

I has a similar problem after putting too much force on the trans x-member with a jack. my 3-4 shift felt like was hitting a rubber stop @ 4th gear. I loosened all the trans mount/x-member bolts and re torqued in sequence and lb-ft according to the FSM. problem solved. it even may have been better than since new.
