Smile Picking up my '96 OBS...

I'm leaving for Exeter now to pick up my new (used) daily driver. Yay... I hope they cleaned it up so it looks good as new!

ps: Paul, you'll laugh at this, but remember that noise from the front left that I told them I wanted "fixed or I won't accept the car"? It wasn't a wheel bearing, but the brakes. I now have brand new front brakes! So I did get my money's worth buying a car from the dealership after all, heh.

Well, I picked up my little green OBS today. What a nice little car! It isn't a RS (or RS turbo for that matter), but it's still pretty peppy around town.

And to top it off, the previous owner must have upgraded the sound system and not told the dealership, because that Sony CD player and Pioneer speakers with nice little metal tweeter domes sure don't look or sound stock!

Now I don't feel so pressured to keep the RS a cross between a race/fun car and a daily driver. Definitely a plus.

Thanks to all of you for helping me out with the search and purchase process, especially Paul for spotting the car in the lot.

That is great with the brakes! I test drove my impreza and I could feel pulsing. I told them to fix it and all they did was shave the roter down. Now it its been 10 months and I have had the problem since the beginning of June. Now Im looking at $345 for new front roters and pads.....bastards.

Kevin, sorry to hear about that man - that must have sucked. Yeah, I told them that I had a clue as to what the noise was (I said brakes, Paul said wheel bearing) and either way the potential repair wasn't cheap, so I said I wanted to see parts replaced, not just tweaked until the noise went away.

Other than that, the car has arrived in great shape, other than being a little too oily because they sprayed armor-all all over every plastic surface. I've wiped off most of the gunk by now though. Sheesh, I should have told them not to bother.

Hey, glad it all worked out for you. I am surprised it was brakes because it made the noise at highway speeds. As long as it is gone. I guess the caliper was sticking. I am real surprized the car did not pulse when the brakes were applied or pull to one side? I am just glad they hooked you up.

Now I'll have to look for you around town in that car too.
