You didn't indicate the size tire you have, but I'll assume 285/30 or 265/35 at minimum (why else would you run such wide wheels?), about your only hope is to roll the fenders and increase negative camber.

Rolling fenders is easy, quick & cheap (do it with a baseball bat, or borrow a fender roller if you want to get fancy).

Increasing negative camber is easy, quick & cheap (install camber bolts, about $25 for a pair of Ingalls).

Hopefully your offset isn't too low or you may have no choice but to run some neg camber like nhat mentioned. Definitely roll fenders. Not sure what profile tire you have but you can try running a 30 or 35 series to make your overall circumference smaller, giving you more clearance (downside is your rim is open to damage)....maybe you can get a set of coil overs if you can afford it.....all I can think of really

9.5 is a pretty aggressive wheel for your fenders. Curious to know how wide of tires you went with...i would say anything under 255 is going to be pretty stretched.

Check the sticky above re: Wheels that fit the STI....the sample car is your year, Rota Grids aren't on the list...it's good reading regardless.

To those enquiring about tyre size, I kindly refer to you picture #2 with the large "255/35ZR18" in picture, front and centre.

To the OP;
3 things which might solve, or ease the rubbing:
-More camber
-Roll gaurds
-Wheels of proper fitment (they look good, but fitment issues ftl)

I forgot to add, when you're done being totally frustrated by this wheel/tire combo, I'll trade you (+ your cash, though not a lot) for a set of 17x8.5 SSR Comps with 255/40 tires.

You'll be very happy. Do a little research and you'll find out how good a wheel the SSR Comps are (were, they're no longer available).

I have the correct suspension + rolled/pulled fenders that can accommodate 18x9.5. I'm already running 18x9 with 265/35 and no problems.

Hit me with a PM or e-mail when you're ready. I'm in n. central Phoenix.

17x8.5 SSR Comps

Your rear fenders need to come out about 12mm past stock to fit that wheel/tire. The more logical option would be to get rid of those wheels and get something with a Subaru correct offset.

A 38 off set on a 9.5 is going to take some work. You need to roll your fenders and pull them a bit and you will need to run about 2 degrees or more of negative camber. or just raise your car up like a monster truck.

He wont need to pull at all, just a roll all around and some aggressive camber and you'll be fine.

yeah he might not need to pull, i'm running 17x9's +38 with 255's -2.0 degrees front and back for street and i rolled my rears with a slight pull but i'm on coilovers. I'm guessing with just springs he might want the room.

2 all of those that keep saying that i should have done some research before buying the rims, well let me correct all of you. I KNEW THE RIMS WERE GONNA BE REALLY AGGRESSIVE, so now you ask yourself than why did you buy them? well i bought them cause i no longer race this car since i have accomplish my goal by pulling a 11'' sec pass at the 1/4 mile. I just wanna make this car look cool and AGGRESSIVE so when i started to see pictures of sti's with this rims on google i felt in love with the wheels, plus i only drive my STI once a week and thats if i go out on sats thats why i have the 325i to use as a daily driven car. so there you go guys.......

No. you didn't do your research. You would've known that with these fitments you are extremely limited on the tire sizes you want to run, they require aftermarket suspension (coilovers, not springs/struts), and irreversible fender modification. This is why you are in the position you are in. The best you can do, is learn from your mistake and dig a bit more into what makes the "aggressive fitments" so aggressive. With Subaru's you have to account for offsets, tire width, fender mods, camber, and RIDE HEIGHT. Its been said a million times, and I'll say it again, flush fitments look STUPID at stock height. Theres a minnimum amount of work required (see the first couple of sentences), then there's what you SHOULD do.

I can almost guarantee you wont run an 11 second quarter mile anymore with this set up.

I'm sure you'll find a way to make them fit.

Your tires have a really narrow tread arc. I have 255/35R18s on 18x9.5s as well and they dont look NEARLY that stretched.
