Event: AirBoy dyno pull
Location: Greenville, SC
Ambient Temp: 75
Elevation: 200
Weather: Clear, warm night
Tires: 17" all seasons

Car: 2004 WRX
Tuner: STi Mikey
Dyno Info: Airboy
Transmission: Stock 5 Spd
Gear: 3rd
Peak HP: 342
Peak Torque: 330
Baseline hp/tq for a stock on same dyno: 185whp
Target Boost: 21
Target AFR: 11.6-11.8
Fuel: E85
Engine/Power Modifications:

Stock Motor, VF39 (self porting job), 73mm Intake, full 3'' TBE, DW 850's, Hallman MBC, STi Mikey Tuned on E85

This is the most power I've made on a 2.0 vf setup. Ive had one other make 340. This car is putting out amazing power for the mods. I had the luxury of driving this car on the Phatbotti Tuning trip down in SC. This is when the car only had 20psi, 11.0 AFR, and 26 degrees of timing in it.

The car was easily a low LOW 12 second car then, and easily an 11 second car now

Caleb wanted 330whp+. We left him with 305, not wanting to push the car in SC. He called the other day with a new intake for the car and was dead set on more power. I took his prior map, half maf'ed it, recaled it, leaned it out a bit, added some timing, and created a beast.

On a technical note, i've seen dozens of ported vf turbo's used over the last year. The porting never seems to make a difference. 18.5psi @ 6500 and a graph I've never seen out of this setup. I'd like to pull the car all the way out while logging, but there is literally no fall off what so ever!

This car is an awesome everyday driver. I'm both happy and impressed we were able to accomplish this number, especially for 92-95 degree IAT's (IAT comps: -.7 @ 86 interpolating to -1.76@ 104) So we were even down a degree

Enjoy!

-Mikey

Some turbos just hold boost better than otherss, my small 16g holds 20psi to 7200rpm easily, nice numbers for sure though!!

Wow. I know a vf39/43/48 powered EJ205 has 11's in it. Was hoping I'd be the first one there, but this looks to have more potential than mine at the moment. I agree with Jason, get it out to the strip and lets see what it can do...

that is crazy, it made more power power than my car by 20whp for the conditions.

Congrats Mikey and Caleb, I am sure Caleb is super excited .

I want a ride

Hey guys thanks for the comments! This car is such a blast to drive, so responsive! I'm hoping to get down to the track this fall and get some numbers to show you all. I'm just alittle antsy about launching her with stock tranny but i'll see what i can do

Juan we gotta get together, i wanna see your ride also now! We gotta get a date together for a track day. Maybe we can get a few other guys to come along.

Big thanks to Mikey for all his hard work. I couldn't be happier

Way back in 2004 we had a guy (Vecino) that used to run a VF34 in his 2004 WRX. Back then he ran 11.8 @ 115 on C16 with his VF series EJ205. The car put down 360WHP on a dynojet at 24psi. So yes it's definitely possible that you can run 11's on a VF series EJ205. You just won't be the first one.

BTW- Those are some awesome results! Great job! That thing should be pretty fast (116-119 if it is close to stock weight).

Thanks Speed. I was assuming the car to be a 117-118 car. I have 2.0 vf's on pump doing 116 religiously but they are not able to break the 12.0 barrier yet

Not to mention its impossible to get them passed their wives and sneak them to the track

I thought it hadn't been done yet...good to know. Race gas gives you a big advantage though...Looking forward to seeing the track results on this one...

E85 does pretty amazing. The more power we threw at it the more it wanted. not a single sign of knock anywhere. i could prob turn her up to 25 psi and have no probs but i'm happy with this i didn't realize that e85 it wasn't available everywhere.

Wow, awesome results! Did you do any pulls out further? It would be interesting to see if it falls off or flattens with another 500-750 rpm. Can't wait to see track times, the traps should be killer.

You have more than one 2.0 VF going 116 regularly on pump?

2 swapped GC's, 2800

But there is one full body 04 that goes 114-116.

Boner (John) went 11.9 @ 115 back in the day when Junior tuned him at ICS. Its verry possible, stout tune and some cool IAT's

I'm running an ACT heavy duty street clutch. Its good for 529 ft lbs i think and it's also ceramic i believe. MPG's are def not good. But it's 6 and and one half dozen. from A to B on pump you use less fuel but you pay more per gallon. From A to B on E85 you use more fuel but you pay alot less at the pump. on 93 i was getting like 25 mpgs, i'm prob doing 15 to 18 mpg on E85 but i dunno. haven't calculated it yet i'll get back to ya on that one
