I guess winning "Best Impreza 93-01" at Subiefest doesn't matter anymore.

So I'm thinking of pimping my gc8 over the next few months I would like some opinions of the things I should do or what people would like to see. I love these cars and I love all the different builds I have seen. It would be nice to integrate ideas from various builds.

it seems every gc8 that gets built from stock is either 100% awesome or 100% fail.

most of us come from different car backgrounds so that plays an influence as well. if you dont have what is considered the norm, people here will let you know by telling you. I get "you need xxxx" comments all the time. you will find that everyone's mod path is the same. OEM exterior upgrades, OEM interior upgrades, OEM engine/drivetrain swaps, etc etc. As soon as you deviate from the norm, people will crucify you.

example: i cant stand rally armor mudflaps, pink stickers, and hella supertones in the grill. i used to be pretty vocal about it, but it got me nowhere. they're super popular, but the best thing I can do is just not get that stuff for my own car. simple.

the best advice i can give is that whatever path you decide to take, just execute it well and have fun doing it. I've seen some builds where you can tell the owner just has money to burn, but all the $$$ doesnt necessarily mean good execution.

Best advice I can offer is take it SLOW. Think out your build, look at a ton of pics, pick out your parts, and have an end goal in mind. I think a lot of builds lose their way because someone likes individual pieces, but hasn't thought how they will look as a whole. make a parts list, even if you can't afford it all at once, and have an end goal of what you want the car to look like.....just because you like that person's wing, that person's bumper, and that person's side skirts does not mean they will look good together.

I would say you've taken the wrong first step by asking others what YOUR build should look like. It's YOUR car. You shouldn't give a **** what others have to say about it. If you like it, it's all that matters.

good advice to a point but it is always nice to have someone do a double check on a few things here and there on your build. Just dont take anything anyone else says to seriously if they are against something YOU want to do to the car.

Because he studied there, liked the plate, and bring it home for his car.
