Default How Do I Pull My OEM WRX Sub Woofer

My WRX is turning into a Auto Cross only car ... can I just pull it ... do I have to do anything "special" with the wiring ... I want to still listen to my radio and CD player ... just don't need the Sub Woofer ... I find I always have my Bass turned down anyway ...

One bolt holds it under the seat, pull off the radio bezel, unplug the wiring, you dont even need to pull out the wiring, but it is not hard. For easy instructions on removing the radio check the pics here: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=690333

and be sure and save that wiring harness...if you sell the sub, it'll be much more valuable with it than without...

Yes, make absolutely sure to remove the harness for the sub along with the sub itself, and it must remain intact. Quite often people remove only part of it and cut the rest off, making the harness essentially worthless. A new harness is about $100 from Subaru so not having one can make it difficult to sell your sub as mentioned above. The harness runs from behind the radio (where it plugs in between the factory harness and the radio) to the sub under the seat.

thanks guys ... haven't studied the pictures yet ... but it sounds like the sub unbolts easily ... and I just have to unplug it's harness from the back of the radio ... and extract the entire harness from between the radio to under the seat ... thanks again

What can I sell the sub with intact harness for ...

Scan the Private Classifieds here, and also check Ebay, to get an idea of the going price range for the sub.
