The only thing I gathered from that video is that the throws of the shifter are short. Meh about the e-brake induced oversteer.

I didn't watch the video yet:

The good part about the E-brake is that when pulled, the rear axle is decoupled; it gives the driver more control of the vehicle, or in reality more ways to control the vehicle. In my former 06 WRX wagon, although there were no nannies, I had to use the e-brake sparingly when correcting the cars trajectory, as it would slow the front axle if used for too long due to the nature of the AWD system.

Yeah it can be used to hoon, but in reality, it's a better system for controlling each end of the car independently.

In my 08 Forester XT I had to use the e-brake to control a slide in traffic that would've ended horribly otherwise. Stupid ice + ruts = potentially bad time.

Litchfield Working On Toyota GR Yaris Upgrades, Has Already Boosted It To 300

The Toyota GR Yaris is one of those cars that are simply destined to be tuned and UK’s Litchfield Motors is one of the first to announce their work on the little pocket rocket.

The tuning company has purchased two examples of the Japanese hot hatch to simultaneously develop packages for the chassis and the engine and has already extracted 300 HP from its 1.6-liter three-cylinder, up from the factory’s 257 HP, with a simple tuning box that’s currently receiving its final calibration before going on sale.

Litchfield notes that it will take some time to crack the factory Denso ECU in order to offer OBD tuning packages, but their partners are putting the final details on a plug-and-play replacement ECU for those who want to extract even more power from the little Yaris.

In addition to the engine tuning, Litchfield has partnered with Nitron to develop a series of suspension kits and handling setup packages. The company’s initial goal here is to offer an improved ride quality and sharper responses from the chassis and so far, the white car with the prototype suspension performs exactly like that.

The black car currently has the 300 HP tune while the white one wears the prototype Nitron suspension

Litchfield will eventually offer both 3-way and a 2-way Nitron suspension kits for the GR Yaris, which features solid mounts, big wheel articulation, and wide tracks right from the factory, making it a truly great platform for mods.

Toyota Unveils 2021 Yaris WRC Race Car With New Livery

Toyota Gazoo Racing has unveiled the Yaris WRC car it will compete with in the 2021 FIA World Rally Championship.

The Japanese car manufacturer had initially planned to enter the 2021 season with a WRC version of the new-generation Yaris (the car that led to the creation of the road-going GR Yaris), but this project was killed off. Instead, Toyota will continue to race with its previous-gen Yaris, albeit now updated with a livery similar to that worn by the new GR010 Hybrid designed for the Le Mans Hypercar class of the World Endurance Championship.

Over the past four WRC seasons, Toyota has claimed 17 victories and 322 stage wins with its current Yaris race car. It also secured the manufacturers’ title in 2019 and has won back-to-back drivers’ and co-drivers’ crowns in 2019 and 2020.

New for the 2021 car is the fitment of Pirelli tires, as the Italian company is now the sole tire supplier for the World Rally Championship.

No changes have been made to Toyota’s driver line-up. As such, Sebastien Ogier will continue to race alongside co-driver Julien Ingrassia while Elfyn Evans and Scott Martin will partner up once again. Toyota’s third car will be driven by Kalle Rovanperä and Jonne Halttunen.
