Well I got t-boned by some guy crossing three lanes at once with his pickup truck. I was afraid of the body shop not being able to match the Sonic Yellow properly... So even though the guys insurance paid for most of it I threw in $300 of my own money and just had them paint the whole thing black since I already had black rims and tints.

I gotta agree ^. Even though I don't like that particular yellow, it was the uniqueness of the bugeye.

If you took it to a good body shop they would have had no trouble matching the color.
If you only had to throw an extra $300 to get the rest of your car painted it is obvious you went to a **** place. |

Yeah the Sonic Yellowz was cool. Got a ton of attention, both good and bad. I liked the color, part of the reason I bought the car. Yes, I did go to a **** place. The reason I have the side skirts is because they didn't put the car back together properly and the stock ones fell off shortly after! They did paint the door jams, but my engine bay is still yellow, which is kinda cool actually. I painted the underside of the hood with high temp ceramic paint myself. Not that it needed to be that, just felt using a very flat black on it. I miss my yellow sometimes, but by the same token being stealthy is cool too. Subaru guys give me a ton of sht for defacing such a rare bird, but in general I have had more people say they like the black better. So its bittersweet but I am quite happy with her black. Besides I have always wanted a car that is all blacked out top to bottom and when I got the opportunity to have that I just jumped on it.

My father race car is very similar to the color. Believe it or not it was straight yellow tint.

Yes, basically almost everyone will probably have a problem with it. Oh, and your only engine mods are an intake, BOV, and a tune? Never thought of buying a down pipe instead and gaining some actual HP from that tune? |
