Optima Custom Battery Tie Down?
Hey nasioc, I was wondering for those who have had optima batteries. Have you guys or gals come across where the stock battery tie down does not fit correctly on the optima batteries? It does not hold tightly because it is shorter than the stock battery? Is there a custom tie down or an aftermarket one to use instead of the stock one? Thanks.

Well the I have the 35R and I do have washers holding it in place for the time being. Was just wondering if there was one around, cause taking it out and putting it back in is ehhh.

I have the 35 Optima red top and I use the kartboy tie down. Hold the battery fine even when going over jumps.

35R yellow top here and the stock tie-down works just fine for me.

Just go to the parts store and get shorter j-hooks.

+1 for shorter j-hooks. The ones I got even came with wing nuts so I don't even need a socket to remove it.
I wouldn't mind a smaller (length) tie down though. |

Where did you buy the shorter j-hooks at? Do you happen to have the part number handy and what store? Thanks

Any parts store will have J-hooks..near the battery.
They may not be shorter, but they are threaded down further. Alternatively, you can cut the hook off yours and bend a new one (making it shorter), or getting a die (I believe it is M8x1.25) and cutting threads into your hook further down. |

I think my optima came with a red plastic piece that I put under the battery for a perfect fit.
