Just saw a review for the USA legacy and I noticed it comes with the third eyesight camera behind the mirror. Just like the one in the Japanese models that were in the article for testing lane centering. I wonder if that means those will get an update for lane centering and the updating speed range/ turning range for the system (where as the current turns off lane keep assist at turns).

It seems easy enough to be able to buy the upgrade for current models and get a software update to the car maybe? All the screens diagrams are the same and same screen size so it would hopefully be a upgrade for$800 or so for anyone who wants it ? That's my hope anyway!

Probably not upgradeable due to integration of software with various sensors/actuators in the car.

Subaru don't upgrade within model year. They make you upgrade cars. It's the appeal of giving up your current ride. Classic tactic.

Well, they make small cosmetic changes to exteriors and often change radios and colors on interiors. But I agree, never really anything major.

Yea one can hope. It's insteresting that the Canadian model can come with dual climate control and a heated steering wheel, that's in the sport tech which is comparable to the USA limited

Hey guys, Iím coming from the Audi world and looking to jump into a 2018 Impreza sport sedan. My Audi is a 6-speed and Iím kinda over driving manual in traffic so I was looking for something reliable, automatic, and AWD with some nice features. My only concern is with the CVT on this car. Iíve seen some nightmares with other manufacturers but not too much about Subaru. I see they extended the warranty out to 10 years/100k miles so that tells me maybe they know theyíre a problem. Anyone care to weigh in on the CVT reliability? Iím looking to buy this car and drive it till the wheels come off. Thank you!

2017 and up introduced us to the 2nd generation of this CVT with revised ratios and a few other things. The warranty extension covered both 2106 (old) and 2017 (new). I think Subaru is being proactively cautious with the new one, in that they are hedging their bets that *if* something should go wrong (with 2017 being the 1st year, sometimes it does), they won't get sued through recalls because (lack of) warranty (using and understanding their track record with high mileage CVTs). By being proactive in this regard, if nothing goes wrong, it's no real loss at all. If it does, "it's under warranty, and we stand behind it." A bit of a PR stroke of genius if you ask me.

No one has said anything has gone wrong with them yet (I have one, my 1st CVT ever, but 8th Subaru) and I have had zero complaints coming from a MT owner (also have BRZ and S2000). I've had lots of rentals with CVTs and this one is a joy to drive, especially with the flappy paddles. Shifts relatively quick, and even better, VERY smoothly, no jerking action... which is great if loaded up in a quick corner... it holds its balance and composure.

The only thing you may not like is lack of power compared to your Audis. My previous car was a Chevy SS sedan. This car does a good job in city traffic and even getting on highways. But passing (overtaking in a passing zone of a one lane road) *quickly* is not its forte. If the car you're passing speeds up (which technically is illegal in all 50 states)? Just have to back off.
