First rule of owning even a cheap Porsche. Nothing is cheap

Are you parting out any of the stock parts? I need a few things.

Do you know how many miles were on your AOS? Mine is at 74k miles and smoking a little. I need some Savanah Beige seats, mine are shot. And a non Lithtronic R side head little with amber turn signal. HVAC controls too.

Yup, learned that from building Boxster Spec cars.

As for the other parts, I don't have an AOS that I would trust sending to someone, just a spare that I keep around incase of emergency. The headlights were toasted from the AZ sun on the test car so I tossed them. I do have an HVAC controler that might still have a good display still.

PM me what you want for it, mine is a giant orange blob. It still works, but I can't read anything on it.

And thanks for sharing your cool project with us.

The wiring harness has been reduced to only what is needed to make the engine run.... hopefully.

And here's what wasn't used...

As far is it being a Euro thing... I don't know about that because I'm not into Euro cars really. I just thought it would look cool, and so far, you are the first person who hasn't cared for the look. (which is fine)

As far as the headers being "long"... While it's true that they are longer than the aftermarket EL Subie headers, they aren't a whole lot longer in reality once you factor in the up-pipe. Also, I did a lot of test fitting, and analyzing before I settled on this turbo location, and truth is, there is really nowhere else in the chassis for it to go. You have to remember, in these pictures, there are a lot of suspension pieces and other parts missing that restrict turbo placement, especially with such a relatively large turbo.

Like I said before, I really wasn't trying to sound very judgmental and I can tell you are a very experienced fabricator. I was just curious if you had any room for a different placement of the turbo, but like you said there is no where else for it to go! I really respect your work, and from what I can see your welds are nice and clean!

With the room behind the crank pulley, there is plenty of room to do an H6 swap. That would be another alternative for some.

Yes, plenty of room. I bet the EG33 would even fit.

Nick
Yes, on the Boxsters, the cables for the shifter run along the right side of the transaxle and I don't want to have to worry about heating the cables with the heat from the turbo and exhaust. With the way everything is routed right now, the only parts that are exposed to close contact heat are steel or aluminum. The left side CV joint will see some heat (there's no way around that) and the rear bumper might get a little warm, but everything will be shielded and wrapped so I don't foresee any issues.

Nick

Weight distribution was a concern of mine as well, but shifter cable reliability is more important IMO. Also, there is a local track that is talking about imposing a strict sound limit, so having the turbo on the left side means I will have plenty of room for a muffler on the right side.

It uses a custom flywheel, a Porsche style clutch kit and all of the stock Porsche clutch slave/master cylinder system. I'm not going to be sharing any pictures that relate to the adapter kit beyond what I have already posted. I have to keep some things a secret while I still can.

Yep,
You've got to be very careful with your distribution when you release this. If you don't it will end up in Kennedy's hands really quickly and suddenly all of your hard work goes out the window as someone else takes it mass market. Talking to a patent lawyer wouldn't be a bad idea...

I got the first round of primer sprayed on the prototype fiberglass roof scoop. Once I'm happy with the shape and finish, I'll make a mold off of this part. The plan is to make the scoop removable so I can get to the rear trunk and remove the fiberglass hard top to get to the top of the engine. Also, now that most of the rear window will be blocked, I will probably just fill it in and mount a rear facing camera somewhere and an LCD display where the rear view mirror would go.
I know the shape of the scoop may not be the most attractive, but it will definetly serve it's purpose of getting a lot of cool air to the intercooler which will be in the rear trunk and will vent down over the transaxle and through the license plate area in the rear bumper.
