2015+ WRX/STi OEM Front lip
Hey guys,
Detail provided below, but here are the highlights that hopefully will save you some time. You absolutely DO NOT need to remove your bumper to do this...no idea why some recommend this. You DO NOT need to use the drill templates that come with the kit, that as well is a complete waste of time. I can't speak for other lips, but the OEM lip fits like a glove and imo was worth the money spent ~$330 shipped ************************************************** ************* I just wanted to post up some comments about my install this weekend. Yes this costs more than the ebay versions, but after the install was done I was glad I went with OEM. I will try and post up some pics later today if anyone wants to see this combo on hyperblue. Anyway, onto the review/install.... I read in several posts (don't remember if that was on here or other forums) about people taking off their bumpers for this install. I can't for the life of me understand why...truly doesn't save any time and is a complete waste IMO. Also, and this is a big one as I have seen threads asking for the templates where to drill etc that are sent with the kit.....throw them away they are completely unnecessary. The kit comes with 4 push pins, install those, two in the middle and two on the outside and the lip will stay in place. Pre drill in the correct locations, hence the templates are useless. Take your time to drill the holes and use the provided hardware...It blows my mind that dealerships charge ~$200 to install these. Takes about 30 min start to finish and all I used was a set of low profile ramps to give a bit of extra room for drilling etc.

If a Mod could move this to exterior/interior modifications it likely is a better spot.
My thread really is applauding the quality of the OEM lip, but more importantly to clear up my opinion of the install and ways to save time and frustration for the members. Thanks |
